When A Christmas Story goes live Sunday, Jane Krakowski will be taking on a role she loved in the movie as a kid.

“I play Miss Shields, who is Ralphie’s teacher, and I love the actress who played her in the original movie,” Krakowski tells People of Tedde Moore. “I loved how much she was utilized in Ralphie’s fantasy life — it was one of my favorite parts of the movie — and they have expanded that a bit in the musical telling.”

The live version of the 1983 holiday classic will also expand on its signature line — “You’ll shoot your eye out!

The holidays are just around the corner, and one of the movies that is often revisited during this festive time is the 1983 classic A Christmas Story. Warner Bros. has launched a contest for A Christmas Story, which invites fans to recreate a scene from the movie themselves. The winner receives a two-night trip to the actual house used in A Christmas Story, with cast member Ian Petrella, who played Randy, judging the contest. Hallmark Channel has released a list of Fall movies whose casts include a number of soap opera stars. First up though Desperate Housewives' Nicollette Sheridan stars in Honeymoon For One, A Hallmark Channel Original Movie World Premiere debuting Saturday, August 13 at 9p/8c.

As Sneak Peek first reported December 2008, Union Pictures will now start production September 27 on "Down The Road Again", a feature sequel to Toronto director Don Shebib's 1970 Canadian classic "Goin' Down The Road".

The new film, written/directed by Shebib, will see the return of original cast members Doug McGrath, Jayne Eastwood and Cayle Chernin. Also starring are Kathleen Robertson, Anthony Lemke and Tedde Moore.
