“Can I have your attention, please?” goes the opening line of “Gone,” the first track on Haim’s fourth studio album, I Quit. It feels like a statement of intent, as the album see Danielle, Alana, and Este Haim leaning into their pop tendencies on their most radio-friendly album to date.

Miley Cyrus premiered her Something Beautiful visual album for a packed audience at New York’s Beacon Theatre as part of the 2025 Tribeca Festival.

But Cyrus, who just released her Something Beautiful audio recording last week, with the visual album set to come out next week, is already looking to the future.

The season 13 Finals of the hit Fox singing competition series aired on Wednesday night (May 7).

The show, which began in South Korea, features celebrities singing songs while wearing costumes and face masks concealing their identities until they’re eliminated. Throughout the season, the contestants provide clues to try and help the judges and fans figure out who is under the mask.

This season includes the new costumed character Detective Lucky Duck, who will help panelists “uncover who’s behind each mask.”

During the episode, Top Four contestants Boogie Woogie, Mad Scientist Monster, Pearl, and Coral hit the stage for another performance.

Robbie Williams is British pop royalty, and he was hoping to score a worldwide hit with his recent biopic Better Man.

Robbie’s movie may not have been a box office smash, but steadily drumming up global word of mouth, even from people who have never heard of Take That. While the film is a traditional biopic in that it tells the singer’s life story, it also comes with one very bizarre caveat.

Instead of an actor playing Robbie (or the man even playing himself), the singer is portrayed as a CGI anthropomorphic chimpanzee, making it seem more like a Planet of the Apes film rather than Walk the Line.

Unfortunately, we often have to say goodbye to greatness as well. Lucky for us, the series and movies leaving Netflix in the second week of March are not all fantastic. That leaves us room to talk about the ones that are highly entertaining.

And let's be real, though things might be leaving your favorite streamer, they are likely to find new streaming homes soon. Even if horror is your scene—it is certainly not mine—Nosferatu, which is one of the most talked-about shiver givers in recent times, please be cautioned: Nosferatu is a bit of a selfimportant slog. It is like one of those streetside pamphleteers who think they are changing the world. But in actuality they are merely making noise that feels urgent but is just heated humbug.

The ostensibly Big Moments end in a whimper, sometimes literally. Exclusive: Scottish author Irvine Welsh, best known for writing the original 1993 Trainspotting novel, has teamed with screenwriter Dean Cavanagh to write a biopic based on the life of notorious Ibiza hotelier Tony Pike.

Pike, who died of Cancer in 2019, earned notoriety in the early 1980s after establishing the Pikes Hotel in Ibiza. The hotel, which occupied a former rural farmhouse, quickly became a hedonistic haven for celebrities and musicians. One Direction singer Liam Payne will be given a special tribute at the Brit Awards, according to UK media reports.

The Sun newspaper’s weekend exclusive asserts that producers of the annual awards ceremony celebrating the best of the British pop industry are planning to remember the late singer following his death in October 2024.

And iI quotes a music industry source suggesting that the remaining members of the band – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik – could reunite on stage for the first time since their split a decade ago.

The Sun quotes the source saying: “The tribute to Liam at this year’s awards show has caused a real buzz and speculation that the remaining One Direction bandmates could finally come back together again on stage.

“It would be an entirely fitting way to honor Liam and talks are already under way about how to make this segment of the Brits unforgettable.

I saw 2024's Babygirl, but after viewing it, I am surprised that it is not the erotic thriller that I expected it to be. Babygirl is one of the most critically-acclaimed films of 2024, with the film being of note due to the awards buzz surrounding Nicole Kidman's performance as well as the film's highly sexual storyline. The trailer and other marketing materials for Babygirl set my expectations that the film would be a serious erotic thriller with dark themes and a dramatic story, but as it turns out, Babygirl subverted by expectations.

Upon the announcement of Babygirl, I couldn't wait for the film, as there was tons that I was particularly excited about. Nicole Kidman's other erotic thriller, Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut, is one of my favorite films. On top of that, I loved Bodies Bodies Bodies, the previous film from Babygirl director Halina Reijn.

A music biopic that showcases its subject as a CGI monkey was always going to be a tough sell, but kudos to the Robbie Williams biopic Better Man for taking big swings. They're the kind of big swings that weren't universally celebrated over the weekend because, despite earning solid reviews for its originality, Better Man has become the first official box office disappointment of 2025.

Per Collider, Better Man opened to a mere $1.05 million from 1,291 locations, resulting in a disastrous $813 per-screen average. For comparison’s sake, Pamela Anderson's The Last Showgirl, playing in just 870 theaters to get its run started, opened to $1.4 million and had a per-screen average of $1,673. If there is some good news to be had here, those who have seen Better Man seem to love it as it sits with a 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, coming out ahead of its impressive 88% score from critics.

Halina Reijn is clearly in the A24 business. The Dutch actress-turned-director made her English-language feature debut for the studio with 2022’s “Bodies Bodies Bodies” starring Rachel Sennott, Pete Davidson, and Myha’la and also re-teamed with them for the recently released erotic thriller “Babygirl.” As per Variety, Reijn is working on the script for her next project and, while on the red carpet at the Palms Spring International Film Awards, suggested A24 may be involved once again.

“I’m obsessed with them. I feel they’re like a cult. You can’t just get out of it,” Reijn told IndieWire’s Vincent Perella while on the Golden Globes red carpet.
