She was awarded the 2002 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Actress in a Musical of 2001 for performance in My Fair Lady at the Royal National Theatre: Lyttelton.

In April 1999, her debut single "Perfect Moment" entered the UK charts at number one and remained there for two weeks. Her second single "I've Got You" entered the UK chart at its peak position of number six. Her third single "Love Me/Talking In Your Sleep" entered the UK charts at its peak position of number six. Her fourth single "I'm Over You" entered the UK chart at its peak position of number two. Her fifth single "On The Radio" entered the UK chart at its peak position of number seven. She was also nominated for a BRIT award for Best British Newcomer and Best Pop Act at the 2000 ceremony.

Was a bridesmaid at the wedding of David Gest and Liza Minnelli (16 March 2002).

Released her autobiography, Who Does She Think She Is? (2001).

Starred in the West End revival of My Fair Lady in 2001, but dropped out due to health issues after 12 months.
