  • Vinod Khanna was going to produce and direct a film titled "Made In India". This was suppose to start in late 1997. The film was going to be made in English and launch son Rahul Khanna and Meghana Reddy. Vinod had started a massive talent search for actors for the film. After Himalay Putra flopped, the film was shelved due to financial reasons.
  • An ardent animal lover, Rahul posed for PeTA's campaign to free elephants from the appalling conditions they face in Indian zoos. Rahul also wrote a public letter to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra asking him to ban the entry of performing elephants into Mumbai after hearing of an elephant that was hit and killed by a truck.
