Peter Jeffrey(1929-1999)

He was offered the role of the Second Doctor by Innes Lloyd, the producer of the BBC series Doctor Who (1963), after the departure of William Hartnell but he didn't want to commit himself to a long term role. However, he did appear opposite Patrick Troughton in The Macra Terror: Episode 1 (1967) (which has since been wiped by the BBC) and Tom Baker in The Androids of Tara: Part One (1978).

These days, voice-overs are like an extension of radio drama. But it's a challenge of a different sort. You might be playing a pimple or a flat tyre, which is much harder than it sounds.
