Latvian-born writer-director who had worked with Sergei Eisenstein in Russia. Ingster arrived in the U.S. during the 1930's, where he became best known as the director of O Homem dos Olhos Esbugalhados (1940), an effective minor film noir, produced by RKO on a modest budget. Ingster helmed another film noir a decade later, Dinheiro Sangrento (1950), before moving on to television as a writer/producer.

He married 4 times Leni Stendel 1930 1937, Wilma Ingster 1938 1943, Zita Percer 1944 1954, Christiana Ingster Oshry 1955 1978 (his death).
