Natalie Perkinson is a school teacher who is trying to escape a bad relationship and the hectic life of the big city. She lands a teaching job in a small rural community in the town of Independence. Upon arrival she is greeted by the community leaders and quickly discovers that the country life isn't so simple - and that she shouldn't eat the fish.
