Where Was Lost Filmed? Every Major Location Explained
Image
"Lost" is one of the biggest and most important TV shows of the 2000s. It forever changed the way we think about network TV, helping bring about an era of serialization, high-concept genre shows, and mystery box storytelling. Before we all got glued to social media discussing the latest "Severance" theory or sharing our shock at the latest big "House of the Dragon" death, it was "Lost" that had the whole world obsessing over theories, ships, and twists. By the time it ended, "Lost" went out with one of the most discussed and analyzed finales in modern TV history.

This is a show with a big legacy. Michael Giacchino's score remains the best TV soundtrack, its characters are memorable and the cast diverse, marking a genuinely good stride for representation on TV. Yet the legacy of "Lost" is also problematic, with that same diverse cast also being, in some cases,...

Trump Family Has Reportedly Explored Cashing in on Controversial Crypto Exchange
Image
Corny NFTs and scammy meme coins apparently aren’t enough to scratch the Trump family’s crypto itch.

According to a Thursday report from The Wall Street Journal, World Liberty Financial (Wlf), the Trump family’s fledgling crypto venture, has explored taking a financial stake in the disgraced cryptocurrency exchange Binance. If it wasn’t shady enough, the discussions are reportedly taking place as Binance founder Changpeng Zhao has been courting the Trump administration for a presidential pardon.

The Trump family has been cashing in at every opportunity since the...

One Piece: Figarland Garling’s Mythical Zoan Type Power as the Next Gorosei isn’t Hard to Guess After His ‘Faustian’ Deal With Imu (Theory)
Image
No spoiler content found.

With the death of Saint Jaygarcia Saturn and Figarland Garling replacing him to become the next Warrior God of Science and Defense, the One Piece manga has seen a major shift in the power of the World Government. This change can prove to be a big problem for the Straw Hat Pirates, as Garling is rumored to be even more ruthless and brutal than Saturn.

Figarland Garling | Credit: Viz Media

While One Piece fans are excited to see how Garling performs his duties as the newly appointed Elder, the one thing that is even more anticipated by fans is his Yokai form. As fans know, every Elder in the series possesses a demonic Yokai form with terrifying abilities that make them the biggest danger in the One Piece universe.

Thus, it is possible that, just like the others, Imu also gave him a Yokai form when...

Black Myth Wukong’s Ending is Awful- Why Do So Many Fans Think Wukong Dies in the End?
Image
Black Myth Wukong has been released and it did not take the gaming community long to power through the campaign and reach the ending. Players did not waste any time and finished the story, but discovered multiple endings embedded by the developers of Game Science. The game is now available on the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms and had a stellar launch for a game made by independent developers amidst the fierce competition in the modern age of video games.

The ending is much more complicated than one might expect. Image Credit: Game Science

The other ending will be unlocked depending on the series of side quests a player has accomplished. It is a testament to the game developers’ skill in crafting a story by staying true to the mythology.

There Is More to the Lore Than Meets the Eye in Black Myth Wukong

‘Pachinko’ Creator on the Season 2 Scene That Still Makes Her Weep
Image
[This story contains spoilers from season two, episode two of Pachinko, “Chapter Ten.”]

Pachinko, Apple TV+’s ambitious series adaptation of Min Jin Lee’s novel about a Korean family’s fight for survival during and after the Japanese occupation of Korea, has never used episode titles. But if creator and showrunner Soo Hugh had to assign a title to the latest chapter of her breathtaking multigenerational saga, she would call it “The Boogeyman.”

Written by Hugh, Christina Yoon and Melissa Park, the second hour of Pachinko’s sophomore season reintroduces Isak (Steve Sanghyun Noh), the pastor husband of protagonist Sunja (Minha Kim), who, in the season one finale, was arrested in 1938 for trying to fight for labor unions — an effort seen as an affront against the Japanese emperor. Seven years later, Hansu (Lee Minho), Sunja’s wealthy first love who abandoned her while she was pregnant with their child, is able to negotiate the safe passage of a Japanese official’s family...

The Lost Showrunners Always Sort Of Knew They Couldn't Answer One Of The Show's Biggest Loose Ends
Image
Although many of us here at /Film insist that "Lost" was far better at answering its many mysteries than it gets credit for, there's admittedly one loose end that still haunts us 14 years after the series concluded: what was the deal with Walt (Malcolm David Kelley)? Although the kid himself never got his own flashback episode, we saw in his father's episode that there was something strange going on with him.

"Things happen when he is around," Michael (Harold Perrineau) is told by Walt's step-dad Brian. When Walt's reading a book about birds pre-plane crash, a bird crashes into a nearby window; when he's reading a book about polar bears post-crash, a polar bear shows up. As showrunner Damon Lindelof would put it in on the season 1 DVD, "Walt is psychic."

Back during season 1, most fans assumed the show had something planned for this. They figured Walt would turn out...

One Piece: Luffy’s Awakened Gear 5 Form Looks Different from Others Because it’s Not a Devil Fruit at First Place (Theory)
Image
One Piece chapter 1114 has finally revealed the alleged weapon, Mother Flame, and it has shocked the One Piece fandom. The Mother Flame, when introduced, had a lot of renditions that were supposed to be used for different purposes, like an unlimited energy source, but being controlled by Imu and the World Government, it is only being used for destruction.

The Mother Flame in One Piece | Viz Media

Not much is known about the mysterious power except the fact that it is incredibly strong and could wipe out entire planets. However, since its revelation in the latest One Piece chapters, many new theories have been devised by One Piece fans about the origin of Mother Flame and its overall role in the One Piece narrative.

One such theory connects the Mother Flame to Luffy’s Devil Fruit and points out that Luffy’s Devil Fruit is not a Devil Fruit but the opposite of it,...

Director Julio Soto Gúrpide Brings Film Noir to Inspector Sun and the Curse of the Black Widow
Image
Inspector Sun and the Curse of the Black Widow turns classic film noir themes into a fantastic animated murder mystery with anthropomorphized insects. Ronny Chieng voices a celebrity arachnid policeman who's more lucky than skilled, and despised by his law enforcement colleagues in 1934 Shanghai. A humiliated Inspector Sun takes an impromptu trip to San Francisco with his biggest fan, Janey (Emily Kleimo), a young jumping spider, tagging along. The pair must find a killer while contending with bug gangsters, a villainous locust, and angry ants while under the feet of human passengers on a seaplane.

Spanish director Julio Soto Gúrpide discusses adapting the film from Rocco Pucillo's script, which won the 2013 Samuel Goldwyn Writing Award. This was "the first time for an animated movie." The "regulations" were changed because of "how much they liked it." Gúrpide "convinced" Pucillo to make the movie after Tim Burton "dropped the project." The...
