Emily Elizabeth Thomas is a post-modern genre filmmaker known for her bold, emotionally-charged storytelling, visually imaginative style and distinctly feminine gaze. Her breakout short 'Lola: Girl Got a Gun' established her as a rising voice on the indie circuit, and her upcoming feature MADGiRL-a surreal coming-of-age drama about mental illness and girlhood-is in development with PGA Stanley Kramer Award-winning producer Michael J.P. Reilly. The screenplay has been recognized by both the Santa Barbara and New York International Screenplay Awards.
She is also the director of the viral web series 'Keily' (Candy Jar TV), which she adapted into the upcoming feature 'Keily: Homecoming Dweeb'. Thomas wrote, directed, and executive produced the film, slated for release in Summer 2025.
In the commercial world, she has directed visually striking campaigns for major brands including Disney, Maybelline, Bacardi, Garnier Fructis, and Dell, working with talent such as Sarah Michelle Gellar and Martha Stewart.
Her work explores themes of womanhood, rebellion, and resilience-fusing punk energy with feminine glamour.
