PJ Bucknor

Tru is a first generation Belizean-American actor, artist, and composer from Leimert Park, CA. A true child of the LA Underground and a CalArts acting alumni, his explorations span across sound, visual and fine art, performance and installation. Tru's background in Theatre includes performances of both contemporary and classical works at the Wilshire Ebel Theatre, The Orpheum, The Grammy Museum and The August Wilson Theatre on Broadway. He made his lead debut playing the role of Theo in 'Aging Out' (C. Milton, 2018). Tru has exhibited and installed work at MoCa Contemporary, CalArts, Almost.us Gallery and SoLA Contemporary. As a composer his work can be heard in projects by Dreamworks, Directors Guild of America, The Mark Taper Forum, Netherlands Dance Theater, FoxTV, Netflix and more brands domestically and internationally. Tru has collaborated and performed with artist such as Saba, No I.D, Hannibal Burress, Willow Smith, Tyler Cole, Annahstasia, Duckwrth, Lancey Foux, Raury, Joey Bada$$, DJ Hapa, Keith David, Shabaka Henley, Joseph Marcell and many more.
