Mike Tabone
- Writer
Mike believes the strength of great dialogue can supersede the grandeur of any heart-stopping action sequence.
He started out writing and producing a number of minor theatre productions in the 2000's, including a self-adapted version of the classic "A Christmas Carol" in 2004 and an adapted version of Trevor Zahra's children's novel "Holm tal-Milied" (Dreams of Christmas) in 2006.
He has written and produced screenplays since 2012 including the award-winning shorts "Eve" and "Color," commercials for the private sector, and international adverts for the Malta Tourism Authority.
Mike has adapted multiple works by other authors for the screen, including multiple works by acclaimed Maltese authors Trevor Zahra and Francis Ebejer. In 2018 he scripted a series of historical scenes performed live in collaboration with some seventy period re-enactment groups from across Europe in nationwide re-enactment events commemorating the 220th anniversary of the French Occupation of Malta.
Mike's debut novel "First Fall Fort" treats a futuristic socio-political crisis scenario in a remote town in Europe that leads entire nations to rethink geopolitical realities at a continental level.
Mike's second novel "War and Water" is a mystery thriller set in the Cold War. Its opening scene has been rewritten into a script and is being developed for film.
