Cameron Tyler Carr is a born and bred Harlemite, Director and Creative Producer. As a pragmatic optimist, and with ambition to become the Issa Rae/Jordan Peele/Donald Glover ultimate hybrid, Cameron's constant mission is to continue to push, propel and create Black-led stories through film and creative, while spotlighting systemic inequities that often remain unconscious and unspoken in society.
After Producing/Assistant Directing seven films, and spending seven years making commercials for fortune 500 companies at top creative New York agencies Wieden+Kennedy and BBDO- Cameron's directorial debut was with HARLEM FRAGMENTS, backed by a $100K production budget in partnership with FUJIFILM. The film's latest accolades span from recently being shortlisted for the 56th Annual NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Short Film, 100+ Film Festival acceptances and growing, 22 awards and 16 additional nominations, Grand Jury Best Film Winner at EssenceFest, Longleaf, IndieFilmFest, Seattle Black Film Festival, Mystic Film Festival, Revolution Me Film Festival and Long Island Film Festival- and this year's selection of the DGA Shoot New Director Spotlight Showcase Cohort. As of late, Cameron is coming off Producing and Assistant Directing, his first Narrative feature, securing over $1 million in capital for the production budget, SILENT PARTNER, also shot in Harlem, by an all Black producing team, Black Man Films LLC, while working to raise capital to shoot the Feature film version of HARLEM FRAGMENTS.
