Tyra Banks in Top Model USA (2003)
Tyra Banks on Antm criticism: ‘I refuse to have my legacy be about some stuff linked together on the internet’
Tyra Banks in Top Model USA (2003)
Tyra Banks isn’t here for people coming for her America’s Next Top Model legacy.

The reality TV show burst onto the scene in 2003, with Tyra using her modeling skills to find fresh faces for the runway.

America’s Next Top Model ran for 22 seasons on The CW before moving to VH1 for the final two seasons.

Tyra not only created Antm, but she hosted the show for 21 seasons, with Rita Ora stepping in to help refresh the series on VH1.

In recent years, clips of Tyra being overly harsh and insensitive have surfaced as former contestants call out her treatment of them.

One example was Tyra telling a contestant, in a mean and mocking way, how she would never get a “covergirl” contract because of the gap in her teeth.

grown-ish Season 5 Trailer Introduces Junior's New Crew, Scars Zoey For Life
Image
This is not a happy hump day for Zoey Johnson. Freeform on Wednesday released the trailer for grown-ish‘s upcoming fifth season, which welcomes Junior (black-ish‘s Marcus Scribner) to Cal U as a full-time student — and a full-time problem for Zoey.

Let’s just cut right to it: The trailer’s 40-second mark finds Zoey walking in on Junior going to pound town with Luca’s younger sister Kiela (Daniella Perkins), and her reaction is pretty spot-on for someone who just witnessed their younger brother doing their ex-boyfriend’s sister against a bathroom sink.

‘Ted Lasso’ Star Phil Dunster Says Season 3 to Begin Shooting End of January
Image
Phil Dunster tells me that the third season of “Ted Lasso” begins filming on Jan. 31.

“Honestly, I’m not trying to be coy, but I don’t know anything,” he said when asked about upcoming storylines on the Apple TV series. “I think they like to keep it fresh. But also Jason [Sudeikis] knows what the story arc is. He sprinkles ideas of what’s going to come here and there but there’s nothing really specific. They’re in the writers room now and we’ll see what happens.”

I caught up with Dunster on Tuesday night at Neiman Marcus’ reveal of its holiday campaign on the Paramount lot. “It’s really early, it’s not even Halloween yet,” Dunster told me. “December 1 is when I really start getting into the Christmas thing, but also I don’t mind it starting this early.”

Neiman’s campaign includes its 2021 Christmas Book,...

From Jennifer Lopez to North West, These Are the Fashion Week Moments That Broke the Internet
Jennifer Lopez
A fashion statement, indeed! There is power in style and, sometimes, a piece of clothing is so striking it can break the internet. Don't believe us? In 2019, Jennifer Lopez made fans drop "On the Floor" after she closed out the Versace runway in an updated and more sexy version of the iconic green dress she wore to the 2000 Grammy Awards. Of course, pop culture enthusiasts wouldn't have expected anything less from J.Lo's viral moment. After all, Google Images was created after she first donned the emerald number.  And just a year before, all eyes were on Slick Woods. The model, who strutted her stuff...

Netflix Added 2 New Movies And 1 New TV Show Today
Image
After only adding one new program on Saturday, Netflix have released two new movies and one new TV series today. In a week where the streaming platform continues to add a diverse range of content, today we received the films Goldie and Woodshock, as well as season 1 of Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma, joining K-drama It’s Okay to Not be Okay‘s premiere yesterday.

For those unfamiliar, Woodshock is an A24 title starring Kirsten Dunst as a woman who begins experiencing strange hallucinations after taking a powerful drug. Most of the action revolves around Dunst’s character Theresa taking poison-laced joints that, rather than killing her, put her in an increasingly fragile mental state that turns fantastical. While Woodshock divided critics upon its 2017 release, it looks to be worth checking out.

The other new movie today is Goldie, a Sam de Jong written-and-directed feature starring Slick Woods as the titular character,...

‘Goldie’: Film Review
Slick Woods at an event for Goldie (2019)
Slick Woods plays the titular streetwise 18-year-old New Yorker in “Goldie,” a character who’s constantly running toward, or away, from things — a life of perpetual motion that doesn’t actually get her anywhere. In the confident hands of Dutch writer-director Sam de Jong, Goldie’s story is one of big dreams and harsh realities, and the difficulty in learning one’s limits. With vibrantly expressive aesthetics that match the energy of its defiant and distressed heroine, this impressive coming-of-age indie, simultaneously premiering in select theatrical markets and on-demand on Feb. 21,

Tattood, gap-toothed, scantily clad Goldie has grand music video ambitions. However, as evidenced by an early dance performance at the community center where she lives with her adolescent sisters Supreme (Jazmyn C Dorsey) and Sherri (Alanna Renee Tyler-Tompkins), as well as her mom Carol (Marsha Stephanie Blake) and her mom’s boyfriend Frank (Danny Hoch), her enthusiasm far outpaces her actual talent.

"I need the money... I got big plans!" Film Movement has unveiled a trailer for indie drama Goldie, which first premiered at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year and also played at the Movies That Matter Film Festival and Tribeca Film Festival. Made by Dutch filmmaker Sam de Jong, the film stars Slick Woods as the titular character. Goldie, a precocious teenager in a family shelter, wages war against the system to keep her sisters together while she pursues her dreams of being a dancer. This is a story about displaced youth, ambition, and maintaining your spirit in the face of insurmountable obstacles. Also with George Sample III, Danny Hoch, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Jazmyn C Dorsey, Khris Davis, Edwina Findley Dickerson, and Alanna Renee Tyler-Tompkins. Described as "raw and glamorous, unflinchingly realistic and relentlessly optimistic, with a ton of heart and at least as much attitude." Enjoy.

Rihanna Is the Belle of the Diamond Ball
Rihanna was the woman of the hour at the fifth annual Diamond Ball in NYC on Thursday night. The singer and style icon looked incredible in a black and white Givenchy Haute Couture evening gown at the event, which was held at Cipriani's restaurant and brought out high-profile guests like Cardi B, Normani, Megan Thee Stallion, and even the Prime Minister of Rihanna's native Barbados, Mia Mottley.

The ceremony was hosted by Rihanna's day drinking buddy Seth Meyers; the Diamond Ball benefits Rihanna's Clara Lionel Foundation, an organization that supports and funds "groundbreaking and effective education and emergency response programs around the world" via education projects, scholarships, health care, and grants. From Nyfw to the Diamond Ball, Megan Thee Stallion Is Living Her Best Hot Girl Life
After single-handedly inspiring fans to have a Hot Girl Summer, Megan Thee Stallion is entering Fall with fun appearances at New York Fashion Week and Rihanna's Diamond Ball. While models strode catwalks and designers showcased their latest collections in the Big Apple, the 24-year-old rapper had some of her own adventures and celebrity meetups.

At Coach's Spring/Summer 2020 collection on Tuesday, she rocked a cropped graphic tee, leather skirt, and knee-high boots (making a case for why she belongs on a runway). She was in good company at the event, sitting next to Michael B. Jordan and chatting with the Just Mercy star. Megan also snapped a couple of pictures with Euphoria actress Barbie Ferreira, as well as Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. "Hot Girl Anna," she captioned the moment on Instagram.

On Sept. 12, the talented songstress then performed alongside Ty Dolla $ign and DaBaby on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Rihanna Brings Inclusivity and Emmy Buzz to Fashion Week With Eye-Popping Savage X Fenty Show
On Tuesday night in New York, Amazon had its Beyonce moment: Like “Homecoming” brought home a slew of Emmy nominations for Netflix, Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty show seems likely to generate awards buzz for the streaming service — and the superstar.

Rihanna got a standing ovation from the exclusive crowd at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, who came to see the star present her fall/winter 2019 collection at New York Fashion Week show, but ended up witnessing a full-blown television production that will stream on Amazon Prime on Sept. 20.

The show was unlike anything previously staged during Fashion Week — and possibly anywhere. Rather than a catwalk show, the event was more of an audio-visual experience, combining music, art, fashion and dance, creating a multi-sensory experience for the audience. Leave it to Rihanna to bring together lingerie, Emmy-worthy choreography, music, celebrities — Migos, DJ Khaled, Big Sean, A$AP Ferg, Fat Joe, Fabolous,...

Slick Woods at an event for Goldie (2019)
Slick Woods, Rihanna’s favorite fashion model, makes her feature film debut as the lead actress in Sam de Jong’s “Goldie,” which world premiered Sunday in Berlin’s Generation 14plus section. She found filming 21 days straight “hard work” and a “crazy experience,” but enjoyed it, although she did have to sacrifice her 21st birthday, she tells Variety.

“The work hours were long, but I was blessed with a role that was very similar to myself, so it wasn’t much like work at all,” she says, speaking on the phone from New York, where she is much in demand during the city’s Fashion Week and was unable to attend the film’s Berlin premiere. “I don’t even feel like I was really acting. It was more like playing out scenes in my life that I didn’t necessary want to touch on over again, so it was kind of like therapy.

‘Goldie’ Review: Model Slick Woods Delivers a Breakout Debut in a Scrappy New York Story — Berlinale
Slick Woods at an event for Goldie (2019)
“Yo it’s your girl Goldie I’m about to kill shit today.” Goldie (played by fashion model Slick Woods in her first movie role) is a lot like the film that bears her name: full of attitude, bursting with scrappy New York style, and stuck under the thumb of a merciless system that won’t let her shine like she knows she can. At least this movie believes in her, because no one else will. No one else except maybe pint-sized fans Sherrie and Supreme, both of whom worship their 18-year-old half-sister like Goldie is already the world famous hip-hop dance star she fantasizes about becoming. But when their mom gets arrested and Goldie tries to keep her little siblings away from the long arm of child welfare services, it isn’t long before the urgency of her real life begins to chip away at the possibility of her dreams.

Slick Woods at an event for Goldie (2019)
‘Goldie’ Review: Model Slick Woods Delivers a Breakout Debut — Berlinale
Slick Woods at an event for Goldie (2019)
“Yo it’s your girl Goldie I’m about to kill shit today.” Goldie (played by fashion model Slick Woods in her first movie role) is a lot like the film that bears her name: Full of attitude, bursting with scrappy New York style, and stuck under the thumb of a merciless system that won’t let her shine like she knows she can. At least this movie believes in her, because no one else will. No one else except maybe pint-sized fans Sherrie and Supreme, both of whom worship their 18-year-old half-sister like Goldie is already the world famous hip-hop dance star that fantasizes about becoming. But when their mom gets arrested and Goldie tries to keep her little siblings away from the long arm of child welfare services, it isn’t long before the urgency of her real life begins to chip away at the possibility of her dreams.

Cercamon Boards ‘Goldie,’ Starring Rihanna’s Muse Slick Woods (Exclusive)
Cercamon has come aboard as international sales agent for “Goldie,” which stars Slick Woods, Rihanna’s favorite fashion model, as well as featuring rapper A$AP Ferg, George Sample III, Danny Hoch and Khris Davis.

Sam de Jong’s film, which has its world premiere Sunday in Berlin Film Festival’s Generation 14Plus sidebar, is the story of a precocious teenager living in a family shelter, fighting to keep her sisters together while she pursues her dreams of being a dancer.

Sébastien Chesneau, partner, acquisitions and sales for Cercamon, said: “[Sam de Jong] has created such a naturalistic, accessible story with Slick Woods’ unique character at its heart. Already a fashion and internet icon, Slick is a revelation in ‘Goldie,’ and delivers a breakthrough performance we will all be talking about for a long time.”

De Jong’s directorial debut, “Prince,” premiered in Generations 14Plus in 2015.

“Goldie” was produced by Luca Borghese and...

Slick Woods at an event for Goldie (2019)
Congratulations to Slick Woods! The 22-year-old model has given birth to her first child with fellow model Adonis Bosso! The duo has welcomed a baby boy named Saphir. Saphir's arrival comes just hours after Woods walked the runway (and went into labor!) at Rihanna's Savage x Fenty show at New York Fashion Week. "A lewk, 14 hours of labor, and A king is born," Woods announced her son's arrival on Instagram Friday. "This is the face of a Woman in labor, we hold s--t down most of us don't even know how much we're going through, I'm here to say I Can Do Whatever The F--k I Want Whenever The F--k I Want And So Can You." Rihanna on Her Savage X Fenty Collection and the Beauty of Women's Bodies
Rihanna
Rihanna's Savage x Fenty FW18 show placed women's bodies on display, celebrating their form, rather than objectifying their sexuality. Considering that models like Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid and Slick Woods bared a lot of skin wearing lace, fish net and see-through lingerie on the catwalk, conversations on the epic event managed to center on female empowerment—that may be a first. "Women are the strongest people on earth," the "Wild Thoughts" singer told E! News backstage. "Our bodies alone are made to do so many different things and they're designed in so many different, unique ways. It is about time that we celebrate that." To achieve her mission, she invited...

Slick Woods Goes Into Labor After Walking in Rihanna's Nyfw Show
Slick Woods at an event for Goldie (2019)
From the runway to the maternity wing!  Moments after mom-to-be Slick Woods walked in Rihanna's Savage x Fenty show at New York Fashion Week on Thursday night, E! News has confirmed she went into labor. TMZ, who was first to report the news, says the 22-year-old model was taken to the nearest hospital by paramedics as soon as she stepped off the runway. It's unclear if Woods has given birth to her and fellow model Adonis Bosso's baby boy, who she previously shared would be named Saphir.  And even if Woods was experiencing painful contractions, she didn't let it show as she posed during the jungle-themed show wearing nothing but lace lingerie and...

Rihanna Shuts Down Nyfw at Her Savage X Fenty Fashion Show, and It's Our New Forever Mood
Rihanna
Rihanna came, saw, and slayed New York Fashion Week. She put on an unforgettable first show for Savage X Fenty, the lingerie line she launched in May. True to Rihanna form, this was not an average runway show - it was entertaining (choreographed dance included), incredibly inclusive, and cool as hell. The show at the Brooklyn Navy Yard included names big and small, women of many sizes and many ethnicities, and two pregnant women, Slick Woods and Janina Thompson, who radiated so much beauty as they strutted down the runway with their baby bumps. The show was meant to be a celebration of women and a good time for the audience, and it more than delivered.

Closing out the show was none other than Rihanna herself, obviously. As Rihanna joined the group of women on stage to take a bow, you could feel the love and the pride she has...

Pregnant Model Slick Woods Goes Into Labor At Rihanna's Fashion Show
Rihanna
Rihanna's fashion show was eventful, both on and offstage, because we've learned one of the models went into labor. It went down Wednesday night at the Savage X Fenty show in Brooklyn, NY. Slick Woods was super pregnant as she rocked black pasties and lingerie with cutouts ... along with nude-colored, thigh-high pantyhose. The crowd loved it, but just as the 22-year-old walked backstage, we're told she went into labor. We're told paramedics showed up to help Slick along.

Gigi & Bella Hadid Model Rihanna's Savage X Fenty Lingerie at Nyfw

If there was a lingerie superhero league, Gigi and Bella Hadid would be the most dynamic duo, with their powers being ... getting you weak in the knees. Duh! The supermodel sisters threw on some racy lingerie for Rihanna's Savage X Fenty fashion show in Brooklyn. Exactly what NY Fashion Week needs. Thanks, RiRi!!! Gigi wore racy lingerie with fishnet stockings and a cool cape that'll have you asking ... Superwoman who? Not to be outdone...

Pregnant Kylie Jenner Did Her Own Makeup for Love Magazine Cover, Hid Bump in Cozy Turtleneck
Kylie Jenner in L'Incroyable Famille Kardashian (2007)
Kylie Jenner has been keeping it so low key during her pregnancy, she’s even giving her glam squad some time off. The 20-year-old star, who is expecting her first child, a baby girl, with boyfriend Travis Scott, did her own makeup for the Love magazine Spring/Summer 2018 issue, which celebrates the women and girls of 2018.

For the cover image, shot by Kylie’s sister Kendall Jenner, the makeup mogul matches her red lip kit shade to an oversize cozy turtleneck sweater which shields her bump. Go-to KarJenner pro Andrew Fitzsimons styled her hair in natural loose waves, and matriarch...
