Igor Fernandez was born in Bilbao, in the Basque Country, a sea-side region in the north of Spain. He has lived in Spain, US and Mozambique, due to his familiar context, and his training and work.
Professionally, he is a film director and writer but also a psychologist, which shows in his particular look at the appearance of relations, as the profound and comprehensive result of the truth that lays underneath, the nature is truth.
He has studied screenwriting and filmmaking in the New York Film Academy, and in The Institute of Cinema from Madrid. Uncommonly, instead of begging his career writing short films, his first audiovisual was a feature film that he directed when he was 16 as a school project. His taste for longer narratives shows in his later works as a short film director, as he writes and directs actors from a much wider and deeper perspective.
So far he has produced, written and directed short films, music videos, and has performed as 1st AD in a variety of projects. He is preparing his next project, LOBO - Wolf- a feature film about the passage of age and the brutality of love and nature.
