Red Sonja Reboot’s Cinematic Debut Set to Dazzle at Sdcc

The beloved Red Sonja gets another shot at Hollywood through Millenium Media. The production house will be helming the reimagining of the comic book icon. The iconic character is making a comeback, igniting excitement amongst fans, and recent snapshots of actress Matilda Lutz in the protagonist's role have only intensified the fervor.

Comic enthusiasts and movie lovers are in for a treat in the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con (Sdcc) as Red Sonja’s first movie teaser is set for release. Millennium Media has confirmed that the teaser and a special panel discussion, celebrating the character's 50th anniversary, will be the event's highlights.

The panel discussion during Sdcc will not only be a tribute to Red Sonja’s past, but will also present a glimpse into her future with new comics and novels as per ComicBook.

Red Sonja teaser trailer will debut during San Diego Comic Con panel

A lot of the major studios have decided not to have presentations at the San Diego Comic Con this year. Disney, Marvel Studios, DC Studios, Netflix, Sony, Universal, they’re all sitting this one out. But Millennium Media has now confirmed that they’ll have an Sdcc presence, as they’ll be unveiling the teaser trailer for their long-awaited Red Sonja reboot during a panel that will celebrate the title character’s 50th anniversary!

The main focus of this panel will be Red Sonja’s comic book history. A press release notes that Red Sonja, LLC president, executive editor, and film producer Luke Lieberman will be panel moderator, and guests will include franchise contributors Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner, Amy Chu, Dan Panosian, Mark Canton, and more. “

Did you know that Gail Simone was writing Daredevil? Yep. Sort of. She’s writing This Daredevil, not the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen over at the House of Ideas. For those not in the know, this Death-Defying ‘Devil is Dynamite’s interpretation of the original Daredevil who first appeared in Silver Streak #6 way back in 1940, a mere 24 years before Stan Lee ‘borrowed’ the name for his character. Marvel’s Daredevil now has the copyright, so although this original version is public domain, he can’t be called Daredevil. We’ll call him ‘Devil from here on out.

Gail Simone to Helm Red Sonja/Tarzan Crossover Series for Dynamite
Dynamite Entertainment has announced its first-ever Red Sonja/Tarzan crossover miniseries from writer Gail Simone and artist Walter Geovani. According to the official series description, the title will “unite the iconic heroine of swords-and-sorcery with the quintessential jungle adventurer in deadly conflict with Eson Duul — an evil man whose very name makes the powerful quake with fear. ”

“It’s an odd thing about my career, especially being a female writer mostly known for superheroes, but I do get asked a lot to write these incredibly manly characters quite often, and the truth is that I just love them.
