Jason Bernardo was born in La Jolla, California, and raised between its beaches and the rural landscapes of Ohio. A former athlete and lifelong martial artist, he developed a deep sense of discipline and adaptability that would later shape his approach to acting. After exploring various careers; including fine-dining sommelier, luxury realtor, and band manager-he discovered his passion for the craft at RAW Acting Studio in Venice Beach, CA, and he committed fully to studying and working on screen and stage.
Jason's most notable roles include portraying fashion icon Calvin Klein in Hulu's Welcome to Chippendales (2022), starring alongside Emmy nominees Murray Bartlett and Kumail Nanjiani. He also landed two lead roles in independent features: A Long Road to Tao (2024), in which he lost 30 pounds to play a professional surfer battling AIDS, and Murder and Cocktails (2023), a quirky thriller inspired by The Thin Man. Recently he portrays the sheriff in INSP's western series Elkhorn, bringing grit and authenticity to the frontier drama. In 2025, he will be taking the stage at the legendary La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York, further showcasing his range and dedication.
In addition to his work on screen, Jason is a passionate advocate for wild horse preservation and a longtime practitioner of Transcendental Meditation. An avid surfer and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt, he applies martial arts philosophy to both his personal and professional life, finding strength in discipline and the pursuit of mastery.
