Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Daughter, Isra Hirsi, Says She’s Unemployed & Selling Used Clothes After Suspension For Pro-Palestinian Protests At Barnard
Image
Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-Minnesota) daughter, Isra Hirsi, revealed that she is currently unemployed and has to sell her clothes to make a living.

In April 2024, Hirsi revealed in a statement on X that she was one of the three students suspended from Barnard College after she participated in a pro-Palestinian protest at Columbia University.

In her post, she labelled herself as an organizer with Columbia University Apartheid Divest. This group advises the university to deprive “companies complicit in genocide.”

After the young activist was arrested, she claimed she had been left homeless and starving on the streets.

In an Instagram story uploaded on Tuesday, Hirsi stated that “unemployment got her” and that she is now selling her clothes on the social e-commerce platform, Depop.

The Minnesota congresswoman’s daughter linked her Instagram story to her Depop profile, where she listed items such as a pair of Dr. Martens boots...

Elon Musk Blows Up Internet & Maybe D.C. With Claim That Trump Is In Epstein Files: “Holy Sh*t”
Image
The war of words and tweets between Donald Trump and his top donor Elon Musk just went nuclear.

As the former Doge chief and Potus tossed slings and arrows at each other over the president’s “Big Beautiful Bill’s” effect on the federal deficit and whether the SpaceX owner put the Republican back in power, Musk dropped “the really big bomb.” After almost over a year connected to Trump at the hip, spending hundreds of millions on his 2024 campaign and charging through the federal government’s inner sanctums like a rabid bull in a China shop, Musk truly went full Little Boy and Fat Man.

Less than a week after he was literally tossed out of the White House with praise and a golden key, Musk today claimed Potus “is in the Epstein files.” With zero evidence, Musk added, “That is the real reason they have not been made public.

In a weighty new music video, “Came From,” Anik Khan – a rapper born in Bangladesh and raised in Queens, New York – recognizes the lives, journey, and impact of immigrants in America and elsewhere. “Do you know where we came from?” he raps. “Do you know what we had to get away from?/Do you know where this pain from?/Them boats we rode wasn’t vacation.”

GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert Doubles Down On ‘Pimp Cane’ Remarks About Rep. Al Green That Democrats Call ‘Racist’
Image
Rep Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado) doubled down on her offensive comment about Rep Al Green (D-Texas), but House leaders don’t plan to take action against the controversial congresswoman.

Earlier last month, Green, 77, was removed from the chamber when he interrupted Donald Trump’s speech to Congress. As Trump claimed that he had been given a “mandate” by the American people to radically reimagine the federal government, Green yelled, “You have no mandate to cut Medicaid!” shaking his cane. Green was removed from the chamber amid cheers from Republicans.

Multiple Democrats stood up and protested Green’s removal.

After ethics concerns were raised, Bobert was recently forced to delete her Cameo account, where she was charging $250 for personalized videos.

The following day, Green told reporters, “I did it from my heart, and I will suffer whatever the consequences are…but truthfully, I would do it again.”

The House – including only 10 Democrats...

Trump Ally Laura Loomer Says Elon Musk Is ‘Silencing’ Her Amid Immigration Spat
Image
Maga world is fighting, and it’s getting ugly. As Donald Trump supporters raged at Elon Musk for arguing that Big Tech needs to bring in foreign workers, Musk’s X platform apparently removed Trump ally Laura Loomer’s blue checkmark and deactivated her subscriptions.

Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who are set to jointly lead President-elect Donald Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency, or Doge, have both infuriated conservatives in recent days by asserting that Silicon Valley businesses rely on foreign workers because there aren’t enough Americans to do the jobs.

The Weed Industry Isn’t Feeling Too Anxious About Trump 2.0
Image
This year’s presidential election was a historic one for weed, with both major presidential candidates endorsing marijuana legalization for the first time ever. Kamala Harris said that she would legalize adult-use cannabis at the federal level. At the same time, Donald Trump announced that he was backing Florida’s Amendment 3, which would have legalized recreational weed in the state (despite majority support, the measure did not receive the required 60 percent voting threshold in the November election).

At this stage, federal legalization seems all but inevitable. Last May, President Biden...

Dems Call on Biden to Limit Weed Prosecutions Before Trump Takes Over
Image
A coalition of Democratic senators and representatives is calling on the Biden administration to finalize its plans to limit marijuana prosecutions at the federal level before he leaves office.

In a Tuesday letter drafted by Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) along with Reps. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.), and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), legislators wrote that the simple descheduling of marijuana “will not end federal criminalization, resolve its harms, or meaningfully address the gap between federal and state cannabis policy. Possession and use of recreational marijuana — and...

Chicago — In one of the most moving moments of the Democratic National Convention, on Wednesday night, the parents of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a 23-year-old American who was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, took the stage at the United Center and spoke of the anguish they’ve experienced over the 320 days since their son was taken hostage.

They called for the release of the other hostages, including 8 American citizens, and for a cease-fire deal that “ends the suffering of the innocent civilians in Gaza.”

But the DNC’s invitation to the family...

Minnesota’s Music Community Reacts to Tim Walz’s Rise: ‘I Have So Much Hope’
Image
When Kamala Harris picked Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate on Aug. 6, most Americans were only vaguely aware that he existed. In the days that followed, we’ve learned about his background in education and the National Guard; his enthusiasm for flannel shirts, camo hats, and hunting; his “Minnesota nice” demeanor; and his ability to fire up crowds at campaign rallies.

For the vibrant Minnesota rock community, little of this was news. “He’s been a pretty powerful governor, he’s well-spoken, and usually handles the naysayers pretty,...

Hollywood, Media And Politicians React To Joe Biden Dropping Out Of Presidential Race
Image
Joe Biden has made his decision, and will not seek a second term. The announcement on a sleepy July Sunday morning rocked social media.

After a Saturday that saw both Donald Trump and his running mate Sen J.D. Vance (R-oh) campaigning, as was Vice President Kamala Harris, the one-page correspondence from Biden, who has been at his Delaware home recovering from Covid, also noted that Potus intends to “speak to the nation later this week.

Biden’s decision and announcement came after weeks of revolt among party donors, supporters and congressional members that the president’s electoral chances and already shaky polls were dimming following a disastrous debate performance that raised new concerns about his age.

Progressive Democratic Rep. Jamaal Bowman has been ousted from his New York Congressional seat after a contentious primary soaked in special interest money.

After Trump Campaign Posts Video Referencing A ‘Unified Reich,’ Biden Blasts Use ‘Hitler’s Language’
Image
Former President Donald Trump’s campaign deleted a video showing the words “unified Reich” from social media, which caused an uproar.

On May 20, Trump’s Truth Social account shared a 30-second campaign video that displayed a message about a “unified Reich” in America if he becomes president again this November.

The video, deleted from Truth Social and Instagram on Tuesday, had also been posted to the former president’s Instagram account.

It contained a series of headlines predicting “what happens after Donald Trump wins” and “what’s next for America,” with responses like, “Economy Booms!” and “15 Million Illegal Aliens Deported.”

The somewhat blurred text appeared beneath the headlines two times in the clip.

“Industrial strength significantly increased … driven by the creation of a unified Reich,” the text read.

The term “Reich” means “realm” or “empire,” which is often associated with Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich, which began in Nazi Germany...

Marjorie Taylor Greene Has Been Obsessed With Aoc for Years

Tensions throughout the proceeding reached a tipping point in a heated exchange between Greene, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-n.Y.) after Greene made a comment attacking Crockett’s appearance.

Michael Cieply: Haim Saban Roars Like A Mogul, And The Echoes Still Sound
Image
The loudest voice in Hollywood last week belonged to Haim Saban. “Bad . . . Bad . . . bad decision, on all levels,” he roared, in an email to President Joseph Biden, sent via White House aides, denouncing the Administration’s announced plan to withhold bombs and artillery shells from Israel if it proceeds against Hamas in the population centers of Rafah.

About the policy itself, opinions vary (to put it mildly). Congressional representative Ilhan Omar happily declared that pro-Palestinian protests had worked. Former Biden spokesperson Jen Psaki said Biden should have used his “leverage” sooner. But by week’s end, Presidential surrogates, feeling heat from critics, were looking for semantic wiggle room; Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said Biden was solid behind Israel, but had been guilty of ‘imprecision.’

In any case, it is impossible not to be impressed by the clear, emphatic and melodramatic declaration from Saban, whose brief missive—addressing “You Mr. President...

House Speaker Mike Johnson Heckled & Booed During Speech On Antisemitism At Columbia University
Image
House Speaker Mike Johnson gave a speech about the antisemitism present at Columbia University, which was met with boos and heckling from pro-Palestinian protesters in the crowd.

Johnson delivered a stern message on the university’s campus for school administrators and protesters after days of anti-war demonstrations, arrests and campus closures at colleges across the United States.

A spokesperson from Johnson’s office stated that Johnson wanted to speak to Columbia students because he believed that New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) had not done enough to keep them safe.

“Today, I’m here to proclaim, for all those who gnash their teeth and demand to wipe the state of Israel off the map and attack our innocent Jewish students, this simple truth: neither Israel nor these Jewish students on this campus – this campus will stand alone,” the House speaker declared during his speech.

“Today, Hamas issued an endorsement of the protesters on this campus,...

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Daughter, Isra Hirsi, Suspended By Barnard College After Pro-Palestinian Protest

Isra Hirsi, the daughter of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota), recently revealed that she was among three students suspended from Barnard College after she participated in a pro-Palestinian protest at Columbia University.

In a statement posted on X, Hirsi identified herself as an organizer with Columbia University Apartheid Divest. This group advocates for the university to divest from “companies complicit in genocide.”

“I just received notice that I am 1 of 3 students suspended for standing in solidarity with Palestinians facing a genocide,” she wrote on Thursday morning.

Currently a junior, Hirsi emphasized that she had never faced any disciplinary action or warnings from Barnard College before this incident. The protest, which took place on the university’s quad, led to several arrests. Columbia University President Minouche Shafik sent a letter to the New York police requesting assistance in removing the crowd and accusing the approximately 100 protesters of disrupting university operations, violating policies and damaging campus property.

Columbia Cracks Down on Pro-Palestine Protest After Congressional Hearing

Inside The Chamber During Joe Biden’s Sotu: Hugs, Hecklers And Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Hat
Image
About a half hour after Joe Biden finished up a give-em-hell type of State of the Union speech, he was still in the House chamber, shaking hands, taking selfies and chatting up other senators in candid moments that were caught on C-Span. The president lingered for so long that some photographers joked that soon the House chaplain may show up to give the next morning’s prayer.

Finally, House Speaker Mike Johnson, still on the rostrum, called an end to the proceedings, and the TV lights dimmed. Biden got the signal that it was time to go, but even then it took him a few more minutes to exit.

The speech and even Biden’s endurance in its aftermath should have provided some reassurance to Democrats fretting about Biden’s age and agility in recent months — as one prominent Hollywood backer put it to me the other day, the term is “freaking out.

Supreme Court Rejects Appeal By GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Over $100,000 Mask Mandate Fines
Image
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court dismissed an appeal filed by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) and Reps. Thomas Massie (R-Kentucky) and Ralph Norman (R-South Carolina). The appeal sought to overturn fines imposed on the three for their consistent refusal to wear face masks on the House floor at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The justices chose not to provide any additional comments along with their decision to decline the appeal.

This ruling upholds the decision of a lower court, which dismissed the constitutional challenge brought forth by the congresspeople and ruled that the courts do not have jurisdiction to review the mask policy.

Lawyers who represented House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Lousiana) supported the lower court ruling and urged the Supreme Court to reject the appeal. Notably, the Republican leadership as a whole opposed the mask mandate.

Greene accumulated fines that exceeded $100,000 due to her repeated violations of the mask requirement.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Pushes For Censure Of Rep. Ilhan Omar For Mistranslated Remarks: ‘I Think She Should Be Deported’
Image
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) moved to force the vote to censure Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) for her mistranslated comments regarding Somalia and Somaliland.

Greene offered her censure legislation on the House floor as a privileged resolution, a procedural gambit forcing leadership to hold a vote within two legislative days.

Leadership was able to bring this resolution to the floor for a vote or motion to table it. These choices require majority support.

Greene said she informed leadership that she was introducing the resolution but did not get an indication of how they would act on it.

On top of being formally censured, this resolution would remove Omar from the Budget Committee and Education the Workforce Committee.

“I would love to expel her; I think she should be deported, I honestly do,” Greene told reporters after moving to force a vote on the censure measure.

GOP Picks Mike Johnson As Latest Speaker Candidate — Update
Image
Update: Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) is the latest GOP nominee for speaker, but he may face the same types of divisions that sank three previous party designees for the top House post.

Johnson, the vice chair of the House Republican Conference and deputy whip, drew 128 votes in the third ballot this evening, per CNN, but coming in second, with 44 votes, was “other.” GOP members cast 43 of those “other” votes for Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-ca), the former speaker, even though he was not in the race. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-fl), the other declared candidate, garnered 29 votes.

“Democracy is messy sometimes, but it is our system,” Johnson said to reporters after the vote. “This conference, this House Republican majority is united.” He said the “intention” is go to the House floor for a vote on Wednesday.

Even though Ego Nwodim joined “Saturday Night Live” in 2018, in many ways, this current 2022-23 season is her breakthrough year. In fact, I’d go so far as to say she deserves her first-ever Emmy nomination for Best Comedy Supporting Actress. And it’s all thanks to steak.

The sketch in question, “Lisa from Temecula,” aired February 4 with first-time host Pedro Pascal. Nwodim plays the titular woman who shocks her sister’s friends at dinner with her obsession over “extra, extra well-done” steak. “I’m about to tear this thing up,” Lisa declares when she starts cutting into the blackened piece of meat. Soon the entire table is shaking under the force of her knife and fork, and the cast members all completely break character, “Debbie Downer”-style. Watch the sketch below.

‘You People’ Perpetuates Harmful Jewish Stereotypes at a Perilous Time, Experts Say
Kenya Barris
Kenya Barris, the creator-writer-producer behind titles like “Black-ish,” “Grown-ish” and “America’s Next Top Model,” has proven himself to be one of television’s most reliable hitmakers. More importantly, he knows how to get people talking.

On Jan. 23, Barris made his directorial debut with “You People.” The comedy instantly soared to the top of the Netflix charts, racking up more than 65.61 million viewing hours to date. That number is proportionate to the avalanche of heated posts, op-eds and reviews that flooded the internet as soon as the trailer dropped.

A modern take on the forbidden lovers’ tale, with a heavy amount of “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,” “You People” finds an interracial couple at the crosshairs of the culture wars. Ezra is white and Jewish; Amira (Lauren London) is Black and Muslim. These differences prove disastrous when it comes to their families. Riddled with white guilt, Ezra’s mother Shelley (Julia Louis-Dreyfus...

Aoc Blasts ‘He Gets Us’ Christian Group’s Super Bowl Ads: Jesus Would Not Spend Millions to ‘Make Fascism Look Benign’
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez criticized the Christian organization behind two ads made for Sunday night’s Super Bowl game, claiming they spread fascism.

“Something tells me Jesus would not spend millions of dollars on Super Bowl ads to make fascism look benign,” the lawmaker wrote on Twitter.

Something tells me Jesus would *not* spend millions of dollars on Super Bowl ads to make fascism look benign

— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@Aoc) February 13, 2023

Christian group “He Gets Us,” a campaign to promote Jesus, ran two ads during the game for 20 million. They were funded in part by the conservative billionaire owners of Hobby Lobby, which has been at the center of several controversies, including the support of anti-lgbt legislation and a years-long fight that eventually resulted in the Supreme Court allowing companies to deny medical coverage for contraception due to religious beliefs.

Joe Rogan eviscerated for sharing ‘dangerous antisemitic tropes’ on his podcast
Image
Controversial podcast host Joe Rogan is once again receiving backlash, this time for comments that critics have labelled “antisemitic”.

The Joe Rogan Experience host was discussing US Representative Ilhan Omar with his guests, Breaking Points co-hosts Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti, during a recent episode when he made the offending statements.

Omar was recently removed from the Foreign Affairs Committee by Republicans over accusations that she is antisemitic.

In 2019, she tweeted that Republicans wanted to condemn her comments about Israel because “It’s all about the Benjamins, baby”, a reference to Benjamin Franklin being on 100 bills. She later apologised for her comments.

“That’s not an antisemitic comment, I don’t think that is. Benjamins are money,” Rogan said on his podcast.

He continued: “The idea that Jewish people are not into money is ridiculous. That’s like saying Italians aren’t into pizza. It’s f***ing stupid.”

Joe Rogan Under Fire From Adl & Other Comedians For Spreading “Vicious Lies About The Jewish People” On Spotify Show
Image
No stranger to controversy, Joe Rogan this week offered the following generalization about Jews on his massively popular Spotify show: “The idea that Jewish people are not into money is ridiculous. That’s like saying Italians aren’t into pizza.”

Rogan was speaking to onetime MSNBC contributor Krystal Ball about Rep. Ilhan Omar’s 2019 tweet that Israel’s defenders in the U.S. were motivated solely by money.

“It’s all about the Benjamins baby,” wrote Omar at the time. The tweet drew a swift rebuke from leaders on both sides of the aisle, including then Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Omar later recanted, writing, “I unequivocally apologize.”

The Spotify host’s statements this week were part of a conversation about Rep. Adam Schiff.

“It’s crazy,” said Rogan. “Did you see him sitting next to Ilhan Omar, where she’s apologizing for talking about it’s all about the Benjamins?...

‘Morning Joe’ Mocks Republicans ‘Hyperventilating’ Over the China Spy Balloon: ‘We Surveil China All the Time’ (Video)
Joe Scarborough, Willie Geist, and Mika Brzezinski in Morning Joe (2007)
Like everyone else in the world, the “Morning Joe” studio discussed the saga of the China spy balloon Monday.

On Saturday, the U.S. military shot down the suspected Chinese balloon off the coast of South Carolina, after it had made its away across much of the U.S. Republicans have criticized Biden for not shooting the balloon down sooner, as it was able to float over sensitive military installations. China claimed the balloon was a meteorological research vessel that was blown off course.

The balloon also stalled a planned meeting of high-level officials from the U.S. and China on Friday. When news broke of it floating about 60,000 feet above the mainland U.S. last week, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken postponed his trip.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-s.C.) did not intend to strip Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) of her seat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee — until, of course, she did.

As a personal matter, Mace says she has nothing against Omar. “I don’t know her from Adam,” she says, an odd contention from someone whose Capitol Hill office is literally next door to the Minnesota Democrat’s. Even if she did, the self-styled free speech champion didn’t think it was up to her colleagues to police Omar’s beliefs. “I...

‘Dances With Wolves’ Actor Denied Bail on Charges of Sex Abuse
Kevin Costner in Danse avec les loups (1990)
“Dances With Wolves” actor Nathan Lee Chasing His Horse, also known as Nathan Chasing Horse, was ordered held without bail until his next hearing by a Nevada judge Thursday.

The former actor, age 46, has been accused of sex trafficking, sexual assault against a child younger than 16 and child abuse while allegedly leading a cult. He was arrested on Tuesday afternoon near the North Las Vegas home which he shares with his five wives.

Best known for his role as Sioux tribe member Smiles a Lot in Kevin Costner’s Oscar-winning blockbuster “Dances with Wolves,” Chasing Horse was born in on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. He followed up that role with parts in “The Broken Chain,” “Into the West” and “Dreamkeeper.”

He did not speak during his first courtroom appearance before Justice of the Peace Belinda Harris scheduled a bail hearing for Monday, according to an Associated Press report.

House Republicans Vote To Oust Ilhan Omar From Foreign Affairs Committee
Image
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Mn) was booted off the House Foreign Affairs Committee, in a move that Democrats see as payback but Republicans say was over past controversial comments.

The House voted along party lines 218-211 to remove Omar from the committee.

Omar said that the move to oust her was an attack on Muslim Americans, citing the birther movement against Barack Obama, fueled in part by Donald Trump.

“I am a Muslim. I am an immigrant. And interestingly from Africa,” she said.

Omar’s district covers parts of the city of Minneapolis and surrounding suburbs.

She added, “I am an American. An American who was sent here by her constituents to represent them in Congress.”

Omar sparked a furor and criticism from fellow Democrats in 2019 when she tweeted, in reference to Jewish organizations advocating for support of Israel, “It’s all about the Benjamins, baby.” The Democratic leadership condemned the remarks,...

Aoc, Ilhan Omar Call Out Republican Racism in Fiery Floor Speeches
Image
The House of Representatives voted to remove Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) from the Foreign Affairs Committee on Thursday. The final tally was 218-211, with one member voting present. The vote was largely seen as revenge for Democrats electing to strip Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) of their committee assignments for suggesting violent action be taken against their political opponents.

The vote didn’t stop Democrats from going to bat for their colleague, with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-n.Y.) pinpointing the real reason for the...

GOP Preps to Boot Ilhan Omar Off Key Committee Because … Revenge, Basically
Image
House Republicans are preparing to remove Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) from the Foreign Affairs Committee, with a vote coming as soon as Wednesday. Why? It could be because they just don’t really like her — for some reason! — or perhaps it’s because they want to get back at Democrats for removing Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) from their committees for suggesting violence against their political opponents.

Republicans say they want Omar off the committee because of her past criticism of Israel. In response...

House Dems Want to Fight the GOP the Old Fashioned Way. Good Luck
Image
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) stood behind a lectern in the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday morning and vowed she and her fellow Democrats “will always stand up to” Republicans’ efforts to “denigrate the integrity of the House.” At the moment, those efforts had amounted to a campaign to deny her a seat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where she had served since she entered the House in 2019. Standing on either side of her were a pair of congressmen who had suffered a similar fate: Reps. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.

McCarthy Blocks Democrats Schiff and Swalwell From Intelligence Committee
Image
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy exiled Reps. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) from the House Intelligence Committee on Tuesday. The move intensifies an ongoing game of tit-for-tat over committee assignments, and makes good on McCarthy’s vow for revenge after Democrats and a handful of Republicans voted to oust Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) from their committees in 2021.

The decision is McCarthy’s first major act of partisan retribution since taking the majority earlier this month. In a formal letter detailing his decision to...

‘It’s Going to Be Chaos’: McCarthy as Speaker ‘Will Adhere to the Wishes’ of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Schiff Says
Image
If he is elected speaker of the House next year when Republicans take control, current Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy has promised to strip certain Democrats — Reps. Adam Schiff, Ilhan Omar, and Eric Swalwell — of their committee assignments. When asked about the possibility of losing his place on the Intelligence Committee, Schiff said that McCarthy will be forced to bend to the will of the extremists in his party.

“I suspect [McCarthy] will do whatever Marjorie Taylor Greene wants him to do,” Schiff said Sunday during an appearance on ABC’s This Week.

Democrats Dial Up the Cringe With ‘Midnights’ Memes
Image
It turns out every politician in Washington was also staying up past their bedtimes in anticipation of Taylor Swift’s new album Midnights, and their posts might just be the thing that gets listeners to go back to bed. With 18 nights left until the midterms, engagement-hungry Democrats are harnessing every bit of star power they can to get some last minute exposure — and for better or worse these memes did a number on us, but who’s counting?

I [can’t] promise that you’ll never find another like this meme, from Senate hopeful Tim Ryan.

Meet the Young Progressives About to Join the Squad

“This is the point in the interview when they ask if we’re gonna join the Squad.”

Summer Lee, a Democratic congressional candidate running for a Pittsburgh-area seat, stirred the straw in her ice water as she let her remark hang in a basement bar in Washington’s Logan Circle neighborhood on the last Tuesday in July. She surveyed two fellow soon-to-be House progressives across our hightop: Greg Casar, running to serve a deep-blue gerrymandered strip between Austin and San Antonio, and Delia Ramirez, a candidate for a similarly safe western Chicago seat,...
