Nakul announced in September 2021 that his focus would now be split between fashion and other creative projects having been involved in fashion full time since 2016.

In February 2021, Nakul Patel began taking flying lessons in order to obtain a private pilot's licence. He is known to be a keen aviation enthusiast and has had a keen admiration for planes since childhood.

In his spare time, Nakul spends a lot of time in the gym training in mixed martial arts and boxing. He also enjoys hiking and reading and as per Goodreads, manages to read around 100 books annually since 2019.

Since 2013, Nakul has lived in London, Paris, Milan, New York City and Los Angeles. Due to his exposure to major cities, Nakul has said that his long term goal is to live in a small town away from the city as he prefers a calmer lifestyle.
