Gin Mung was born in the remote village of Tungzang, Chin state, on the western side of Myanmar (Burma).
In 2001, at the age of 14, Gin with his mother and five siblings immigrated to America to pursue a better life and be reunited with his father, who had immigrated first to the U.S. and worked for five years to be able to bring the entire family over.
Starting a new life in Nashville, Tennessee, Gin played soccer throughout high school and University. Though he had an interest in acting from a very young age, it was not until he was about to graduate from college that he decided to take his acting seriously. After graduating in 2011, he moved to Los Angeles to begin his endeavors in film. He is now known to be the first Zomi (a minority group from Myanmar) to pursue acting as a career. With faith, perseverance and hard work, he landed a life-changing role in 2019 when he was cast as the lead in the very first Myanmar (Burmese) - U.S. collaboration film called UNBROKEN TIES aka MYITTAR.
In 2022 he founded BRIDGE FEATURES, his own production company.
