The reruns of Fox's "Malcolm in the Middle" practically served as my favorite type of procrastination when I was in college well over 15 years ago. Between studying sessions, I quickly fell in love with Linwood Boomer's sitcom, which was about four horrendously naughty and mischievous brothers — Malcolm (Frankie Muniz), Reese (Justin Berfield), Dewey (Erik Per Sullivan), and Francis (Christopher Masterson) — and their quirky and often wild parents, Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois Wilkerson (Jane Kaczmarek).
Although the show may have seemed like your typical silly and innocent family comedy from the aughts, its writers and actors constantly pushed the series' brilliant and witty humor to the limits of its TV-pg 12 rating. There was endless bullying, emotional manipulation, unorthodox parenting, family dysfunction, and a whiff of violence along with other atrocities in every other episode. I think it's fair to say the series was ahead of its time, as far...

With Malcolm and the Middle seeing the return of the majority of the sitcom's cast, director Ken Kwapis has teased that fans won't be disappointed by Bryan Cranston's return to a lighter, more comedic role. For seven seasons, the Fox sitcom followed Frankie Muniz's titular child prodigy as he contended with the difficulties of school and growing up in a struggling home with his dysfunctional family. Alongside Cranston and Muniz, theMalcolm in the Middle revival will see the return of Jane Kaczmarek, Justin Berfield, and Christopher Kennedy Masterson, alongside newcomers Caleb Ellsworth-Clark, Anthony Timpano, and Vaughan Murrae.
As Kwapis sat down with ScreenRant to discuss the 20th anniversary of The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, the director discussed the upcoming Malcolm in the Middle revival. Alongside affirming that filming had wrapped on the four-episode limited series revival, the director stated that one of the things that stood out...

Bryan Cranston says reprising gentle patriarch Hal for a short “Malcolm in the Middle” revival has already left him “rewarded” — and the cameras are off. The four-episode miniseries, commissioned by Disney+ for the sitcom’s 25th anniversary, finished filming earlier in May, yet the service has not fixed a premiere date, Cranston confirmed during a recent For Your Consideration event in New York City.
Speaking with reporters, the 69-year-old actor recalled that “slipping back into that character was so rewarding — I missed him,” adding that a patterned short-sleeve shirt from Hal’s wardrobe helped him recapture the well-meaning chaos fans remember.
Most of the core cast returned, including Jane Kaczmarek, Frankie Muniz, Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield. Erik Per Sullivan declined, so newcomer Caleb Ellsworth-Clark steps in as Dewey, with Anthony Timpano portraying Jamie. Bryan Cranston is all in on the “Malcolm in the Middle” revival. The actor told People in an interview published Sunday that returning to play his character Hal Wilkerson has been “so rewarding” as an actor.
“Slipping back into that character of Hal for me was so rewarding — I missed him,” he said. “It’s been almost 20 years since we said goodbye. And he’s a sweet, lovable man. He’s really a lovable guy, and it was fun to see all my whole family back together. It was great.”
Cranton also revealed what item of clothing he used to get back into character. “It’s a short-sleeve shirt that Hal would wear, a patterned short-sleeve shirt that screams out he’s not going anywhere,” he explained.
In addition to Cranston, much of the show’s original cast — including Frankie Muniz, Jane Kaczmarek, Christopher Masterson, and Justin Berfield — have returned for the revival.

While Malcolm in the Middle may spotlight a laughably dysfunctional family, star Bryan Cranston said filming the forthcoming limited revival for Disney+ was nothing short of “so rewarding.”
Wrapping production earlier this month on the four-episode run, announced back in December ahead of the single-cam sitcom’s 25th anniversary, Cranston told People he was looking forward to stepping back into the role of patriarch Hal.
“Slipping back into that character of Hal for me was so rewarding — I missed him,” The Studio actor said. “It’s been almost 20 years since we said goodbye. And he’s a sweet, lovable man. He’s really a lovable guy, and it was fun to see all my whole family back together. It was great.”
Adding of how he got back into character, the Breaking Bad alum said, “It’s a short-sleeve shirt that Hal would wear, a patterned short-sleeve shirt that screams out he’s not going anywhere.

We're getting even closer to the release of the upcoming Disney+ revival series millennials have been waiting impatiently for ever since its announcement. Of course, we're talking about the Malcolm in the Middle revival series, which officially just made an important filming milestone.
On May 16, series star Frankie Muniz shared on social media that filming has wrapped on the Malcolm in the Middle revival series! The four-episode Disney+ revival began filming in April, and since it's only four episodes, production took about one month to complete. We now have our first look at the Malcolm in the Middle revival happening at Disney+ thanks to star Frankie Muniz, and it doesn't look like anyone's aged a day since the show went off the air nearly 20 years ago. Muniz starred in the Fox sitcom that debuted in 2000 as the titular character of the series, a kid with a genius Iq and photographic memory who had a raging ego. Alongside him were his parents, Lois and Hal, portrayed by Jane Kaczmarek and Bryan Cranston, who are also returning for the revival.
Taking to social media yesterday evening, Muniz shared a photo of himself and his TV parents as filming began on the Malcolm in the Middle revival (seen below). In it, Malcolm is literally in the middle, dressed in a shirt and tie and flanked on both sides by his mom and dad. The three stars all have big smiles on their faces,...

It’s a family reunion!
Frankie Muniz posted a behind-the-scenes photo while filming Disney+’s “Malcolm in the Middle” revival, reuniting with his on-screen parents Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek.
All three actors reprise their respective roles as Malcolm, Hal and Lois in the modern spin on the beloved sitcom. Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield are also reprising their respective roles of Francis and Reese in the new series. However, Erik Per Sullivan is not returning as Dewey. Instead, “Fargo” and “The Expanse” actor Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will take over the role. (Sullivan largely gave up acting after “Malcolm in the Middle” ended in 2006. Malcolm in the Middle is returning to the small screen. Actor Bryan Cranston, who played father Hal in the family sitcom, recently opened up about what fans can expect from the upcoming Disney+ revival.
Speaking with Variety, Cranston shared that he had been trying to get a Malcolm in the Middle revival going for the last 12 years. "I was the one poking the bear going, 'Let's do it. Let's do it. Let's do it,'" he said. "Finally, Linwood Boomer, creator of the show, finally got tired of me poking him, and he actually came up with some really fun, terrific ideas, so it's funny, it's heartfelt. You are reintroduced to this family."
Bryan Cranston teases the "Malcolm in the Middle" revival: "We left the airwaves 20 years ago. All the boys are adults with their own children. It's a different dynamic in that sense — and yet, do things really change with Hal and Lois?...

In the world of sitcoms and family dramas, there have been a lot of entries, but perhaps none as iconic and laugh-worthy as Malcolm in the Middle. To say the least, when it first aired back in 2000, the comedy show, which follows a dysfunctional working-class family, had viewers roaring with laughter, and for all the right reasons. Now, it sounds like it’s all set to return to the screens.

In case you missed the most exciting and nostalgic news out of Disney late last year, Malcolm in the Middle will soon be coming back to our screens for a four-episode revival series on Disney+. The only way us '90s kids would be more excited was if Disney+ walked back on its infuriating decision to abandon the Lizzie McGuire revival series. But I digress.
We're getting closer to the Malcolm in the Middle revival series going into production, and that means we're finally learning updates on which cast members will be returning, who will be joining the cast, and who we won't be catching up with. The Malcolm in the Middle revival at Disney+ is getting (most of) the show’s original family back together.
Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield have joined the four-episode revival alongside their original series co-stars Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek, and Kiana Madeira, playing Malcolm’s (Muniz) girlfriend. Caleb Ellsworth-Clark, Anthony Timpano, Vaughan Murrae and Keeley Karsten have also signed on to the series.
Masterson and Berfield will reprise their roles as Malcolm’s older brothers, Francis and Reese. Ellsworth-Clark (Nightmare Alley) will play younger brother Dewey, taking over the role from Erik Per Sullivan, who played Dewey in the 2000-06 Fox series. (Sullivan left show business after a role in the 2010 film Twelve.)
Timpano (Riverdale) will play Jamie, the fifth child of Hal (Cranston) and Lois (Kaczmarek), who was a baby and toddler in the later seasons of the original series. Murrae (The Way Home) plays Kelly, the family’s youngest child.

The new episodes of Malcolm in the Middlejust received a couple of major updates. Malcolm's (Frankie Muniz) siblings will return, but not in the way audiences expect. While Christopher Masterson will reprise his role as Francis, Erik Sullivan won't be coming back to portray Dewey in the new episodes of the acclaimed series. Instead, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will be given the responsibility of playing the charismatic character. Justin Berfield will also be back as Reese. The stage has been set for the siblings from Malcolm in the Middle to entertain audiences from all over the world once again.
As if that wasn't enough, the new episodes of Malcolm in the Middle has also added Anthony Timpano, Vaughan Murrae and Keeley Karsten to its cast. Karsten has been cast as Leah, the protagonist's daughter. Before she was cast in the short revival of the popular comedy, Keeley Karsten was seen as Natalie in The Fabelmans,...

A Malcolm in the Middle revival is officially on the way, and it's going to feature most of the sitcom's original cast, except for one major exception. Fans have waited a long time for an update on one of television's most beloved families, but they're going to miss one very familiar face that will be recast for the upcoming Disney+ series.
It's been confirmed that the Malcolm in the Middle revival series from Disney+ will see the return of Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield as Francis and Reese, respectively. Meanwhile, Erik Per Sullivan will not reprise his role as Dewey, and Caleb Ellsworth-Clark (Fargo) has been chosen to replace him in the new reboot. The trio of actors joins Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek, who are all reprising their iconic roles. The Malcolm in the Middle miniseries, which will span four episodes, begins filming later this year in Vancouver.

The Disney+ revival of “Malcolm in the Middle” will see the returns of Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield, according to multiple media reports. The two stars will reprise their roles as Francis and Reese, respectively. However, the role of Dewey will now be played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.
The role of Dewey was originally played by Erik Per Sullivan, who has since stepped away from the industry. Ellsworth-Clark previously appeared in “Fargo,” “Wynonna Earp” and “The Expanse.”
In addition to Masterson, Berfield and Ellsworth-Clark, the revival will star Anthony Timpano (“Riverdale”), who will play Malcolm’s youngest brother Jamie, and Vaughan Murrae (“Before I Change My Mind”), who will play Malcolm’s youngest sibling Kelly, a new character who is the sixth child of this family. She is described as someone who is “self-sufficient, gets good grades and already wiser than most of the family.” “The Fabelmans” actor Keeley Karsten will play Malcolm’s daughter,...

More familiar faces are confirmed to be returning for the Malcolm in the Middle revival on Disney+. However, one popular character from the original show has been recast with a new actor taking on the role.
Per Variety, the role of Dewey has been recast for the new Malcolm in the Middle revival series. In the original show, the fan favorite character, who started out as the youngest sibling, was played by child actor Erik Per Sullivan. After the series ended, Sullivan quietly retired from acting and has since been enjoying his life out of the spotlight. This made it doubtful that he would be returning for the Malcolm in the Middle revival, though it was still unclear if the character would be recast or if there'd be a storyline reason given to explain his absence.

Disney Branded Television has rounded out The Wilkersons for the upcoming limited, four-episode revival of Malcolm In the Middle on Disney+, which will reveal the sex and name of the quirky family’s sixth child.
Original cast members Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield are set to reprise their roles as Malcolm’s older brothers Francis and Reese, respectively, joining Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek who are back as Malcolm and the Wilkerson parents Hal and Lois, respectively.
Caleb Ellsworth-Clark is taking over the role of genius Malcolm’s (Muniz) younger brother, Dewey. The recasting is not surprising. Erik Per Sullivan, who played the role on the original series, was not expected to return as he quit acting in 2010 and has not participated in any of the Malcolm In the Middle reunions.

A teenage boy's penchant for finding some form of trouble is worth studying.
In Lifetime's newest original film, Friday Night Sext Scandal, we have a storyline inspired by real events.
It intends to explore the dark underbelly of the high school experience regarding teenage boys who go on the hunt for sexually explicit photos from their female counterparts.
And in true Lifetime fashion, they explore the scandalous nature behind this from a different perspective.
The film focuses on one teen boy's experience of getting reeled into these deplorable actions.
The film stars Riverdale's Anthony Timpano as Shawn, a 16-year-old jock who is just starting to see advancement in his football career when he's upgraded to a starter on the team.
Of course, with advancement in the athletic realm comes increased popularity and the opportunity to hang out with upperclassmen, too.
And we all know very little good comes from associating with upper-class jocks.

Lifetime’s Friday Night Sext Scandal is a real conversation starter. The movie, which premieres March 16, pulls from the headlines, centering on a 16-year-old named Shawn (Anthony Timpano), who gives in to peer pressure of his football teammates. They engage in the practice of “hunting” nude or provocative photos of their female classmates to add to a covert website. After being sidelined with an injury and feeling rejected, Shawn’s dark place makes his best friend Lauren (Keana Lyn Bastidas) a target. When the site and photos of young girls are found including Lauren, things start to unravel leaving damaged lives that change forever. We caught up with stars Timpano and Bastidas about why this is such an important watch. Friday Night Sext Scandal – Anthony Timpano and Keana Lyn Bastidas (Lifetime) I’m seeing this movie and thinking to myself, “How hard is it to be a teen in today’s day and age?...
