A native New Yorker who grew up in Maryland, Yvette Sams, a published author, and screenwriter, held a column in two magazines in Las Vegas and was a Managing Editor of a lifestyle magazine before turning her attention to screenwriting. She is multi-dimensional with writing, directing, and producing experience. Yvette's first full-length screenplay, "A Royal Surprise," was shot on location in South Africa.
Yvette began focusing on screenwriting with her debut short script, The Redirect, which was a semifinalist in the 168 Film Festival. In subsequent years her short scripts, "Free From Me," "A Blessing From Min," "Supply Chain," and "Sunday School" won finalist in the same festival. She directed and produced "Sunday School" which won 168 Film Festival's Best Write of Passage and the coveted Audience Choice Award. Yvette also directed and produced, "Storm Watch," which garnered 17 nominations at the 168 Film Festival making it the film with the most nominations, including Best Director. Yvette is a multi-genre writer with several projects in development.
