Mirlande Amazan

Mirlande Amazan was born in Haiti (also carries the surname "Abouzeide"; is of Syrian and Afro-Cuban descent) and came to the United States at the age of three, when her family moved to New York City. A licensed psychotherapist, Mirlande initially enjoyed a long career in mental health across various organizations, quickly becoming a director in her field. Holding degrees in both psychotherapy and theology, she ran a non-profit organization geared towards mental health and spiritual growth; operated a psychotherapy private practice for seven years before recently transitioning over to the entertainment industry in 2018. Her past as an international model spurred her into the acting, directing and producing world, bringing her unique experience and psychological knowledge to the scripts that she writes; aiming to break mental health stigmas and bring clarity - and healing - to the masses. She is a writer, producer and director and wears all of these hats in her multiple award-winning debut short film: "LIFE..".
