Derick Chaney

Detective Chaney is a Dallas Native. He joined the Dallas Police Department in September 1999. From 2012 to 2022 he was assigned to the Dallas Police Homicide Unit. During his tenure on the department, Detective Chaney has had a wide range of experience varying from working in an undercover capacity to conducting approximately 237 interrogations (narcotics, property crime, and murder investigations). During his time in Homicide, Detective Chaney has conducted approximately 200 death investigations, which includes approximately 167 homicide investigations.
