“Gen V” Season finally has a premiere date, and just in time for the new school year, too.

Prime Video’s college-based spinoff of “The Boys” returns Sept. 17 with the premiere of the first three episodes, available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. New episodes will follow weekly with the second season finale airing Wednesday, October 22.

Season 2 picks up where Season 4 of “The Boys” left off — with Homelander (Antony Starr) firmly established as America’s brutal new fascist dictator and pretty much everyone who opposes him, with the sole exception of Starlight (Erin Moriarty), shoved into gulags at best.

Back in October 2024, a series adaptation of Elle Kennedy's bestselling Off-Campus book series was announced to be in the works at Amazon Prime Video. Now, we've just learned who will be stepping into the roles of the beloved Briar University students, and you just might recognize some of them from your favorite teen dramas or hit streaming shows.

Louisa Levy, a TV producer and writer known for working on shows like Death and Other Details and The Flight Attendant, is signed on as co-showrunner. Gina Fattore is also a co-showrunner. They will both executive produce the Off Campus series, along with Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, Leanna Billings, James Seidman, Neal Flaherty, and Silver Tree. Additionally, Kennedy and Amazon MGM Studios will produce.

The Amazon series adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s “Off Campus” books has added seven series regulars to its cast, Variety has learned.

The show, which was originally announced in October, has cast the following actors: Ella Bright as Hannah, Belmont Camelli as Garrett, Mika Abdalla as Allie, Antonio Cipriano as Logan, Jalen Thomas Brooks as Tucker, Josh Heuston as Justin, and Stephen Kalyn as Dean.

The official description of the show states that it “follows the unlikely romance between a wry, hockey-hating music major (Bright) and Briar University’s playboy star center (Camelli). The series depicts the elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery—forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood.”

Amazon MGM Studios has assembled the main cast of its new YA series Off Campus, based on the best-selling book series by Elle Kennedy.

Ella Bright (The Crown), Belmont Cameli (Until Dawn), Mika Abdalla (The Pitt), Antonio Cipriano (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Jalen Thomas Brooks (The Pitt), Stephen Kalyn (Gen V) and Josh Heuston have been tapped as series regulars in the Prime Video romantic drama, created by Louisa Levy who serves as co-showrunner alongside Gina Fattore.

There are 5 books in Kennedy’s Off-Campus series, which depicts the elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery — forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood.

In the vein of Bridgerton, each of the first four novels tells the love story of a hockey player, with the fifth being a novella collection of all four couples.

Emma Meyer will have a new love interest in Gen V Season 2, a leaked video shared on X suggests. The clip previewed actor Stephen Kalyn and co-star Lizze Broadway in a kissing scene. Kalyn debuts a new character in the series, and it appears he's going to cause a rift between Emma (Broadway) and Sam's (Asa Germann) relationship. Outside of the supes confirmed to return, fans could only speculate on Season 2's storylines and how these tie into The Boys' series finale. Series creator Eric Kripke has asserted The Boys and Gen V are standalone shows despite multiple crossovers.

You might think that The Gilded Age, HBO's mannered period drama about feather-light conflict between members of the upper crust in 1880s New York City, doesn't have anything in common with Gen V, a spinoff of The Boys where college students get their heads lasered off by sociopathic superheroes. And you'd be right...except for one thing: both of them are greatly expanding their casts ahead of their new seasons: that's season 3 for The Gilded Age and season 2 for Gen V.

Let's start with The Gilded Age, which counts the likes of Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Louisa Jacobson, Denee Benton, Taissa Farmiga, and Harry Richardson among its cast. Deadline reports on six new cast members coming aboard for season 3, some of them playing real-life figures from the time:

David Harbour and Jason Bateman — the latter of whom is replacing Pedro Pascal, who was originally on board when the project was first reported in 2022 — will star in and executive-produce the limited series. Writer, director and showrunner Steven Conrad will also executive-produce. Additional EPs include Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Molly Allen, Bruce Terris, Michael Costigan, Kristina Wenson and James Lasdun.

For now, there are no confirmed details about the actors’ characters, but they’ll likely come in as new Godolkin University students, staff members or, perhaps, some of the Vought crew.

Returning cast members from Season 1 include Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh and Asa Germann. The Friday casting news comes nearly eight months after the tragic death of Chance Perdomo, who played GodU favorite Andre Anderson in the first season. He died at age 27 in a motorcycle accident in March.
