Biography

Douglas A. Ewen is an award-winning writer/director who was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Ewen is also the President of the Sudbury Indie Creature Kon - SICK. Northern Ontario's premier horror film festival and convention celebrating the most unique and SICKest minds in independent film.

Ewen, who now resides in Ontario, Canada, is known for his horrific, quirky, and often outrageously comedic writing within the horror community. Ewen's last feature film, End Flux (2022), won numerous Best Feature awards as well as the Best Canadian Feature Film award from the Vancouver Independent Film Festival.

Ewen's films, including End Flux (2022), primarily deal with the current social climate as seen through his eyes, exaggerated human personalities which help make his characters seem bigger than life, and the inner workings of the human mind which are often reflected through his characters and the horrific worlds Ewen places them in.

Ewen's keen knowledge of film, behind and in front of the camera, accompanied by his love of the visual arts, ensured that the only path in life he would walk would be that of a filmmaker.
