Biography

    • Margarita Valderrama is a Colombian-Canadian bilingual actor, writer and producer. Believe it or not, she was not named after the drink and as far as she knows she has no relation to Wilmer. She wishes the answer to the question "Where are you from?" had a simple answer but alas: she was born in Buenos Aires, raised in Bogotá and Mexico City and called Toronto home for over a decade. Now onto why you're really here - Margarita has a knack for wearing many hats, she works in voice over for animation, film & TV, and theatre. Some of her voice over work includes: voicing Lia Venegas on Bakugan: Battle Planet and most recently Lime Chiffon in Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. And just when you thought that was all, she also writes! She is a recent alum of the Canadian Film Centre Norman Jewison Writers' Lab and the Reelworld Emerging 20 Film Writing Program. Her first short film script Date Night won the ACTRA Toronto Shorts Competition and has received official selection from film festivals across the U.S and Canada, notably the New York Latino Film Festival and the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival. Margarita is always grateful for her family (yes even her brothers - eye roll) for their love, support and endless source of humor.
