Studio TF1 Scandi Label Anagram and the Yellow Affair Tempt Haugesund Buyers With Mma Drama ‘Fighter,’ Rom-Com ‘The Greenest Grass’ (Exclusive)

Boutique sales outlet The Yellow Affair, headed by Steve Bestwick, has taken international sales rights to two features produced by Studio TF1’s Scandinavian label Anagram. Both titles, “Norwegian “Fighter” and Sweden’s “The Greenest Grass,” will be pitched at Haugesund’s New Nordic Films Works in Progress on Aug. 21.

In his feature debut “Fighter,” co-penned with Nina Anderson, actor-turned writer-director Irasj Asanti tracks the young Mma fighter Sara, torn between reason and emotion. Although promised to a man through an arranged marriage, she feels increasingly attracted to her female Mma practice partner. At the same time, she helps her dad in his halal shop while continuing her economic studies at university. But Sara has to choose. And fast.

In the title role is fast-rising talent Sofia Tjelta from Netflix series “Midsummer Night” who is soon to appear in Ruben Östlund’s “The Entertainment is Down.” Co-stars include Maja Christiansen...

"It's not only things out there in the woods that could hurt you." Netflix has unveiled an official trailer for an adventure series from Sweden titled Ronja the Robber's Daughter, based on the book written by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren (creator of Pippi Longstocking). The live-action adaptation is a 6 episode limited series for Netflix, debuting in two parts starting this spring. Ronja the Robber’s Daughter follows the adventures of a spirited and rebellious girl born into a gang of robbers in a medieval Scandinavian castle. As Ronja grows up, she discovers the magical, but dangerous forest with its strange and mysterious creatures. Yet she feels more at home in the forest than behind the walls of the huge castle. When Ronja meets the young boy Birk from a rival gang, it marks the beginning of a dark family feud and a forbidden friendship emerges, all while a notorious bailiff...
