Ya está disponible el tráiler oficial de la serie original de Disney+ “Las Largas Sombras”, un poderoso thriller femenino de 6 episodios que reflexiona sobre el peso de la culpa y cómo evoluciona la amistad de un grupo de amigas con el paso de los años. La serie, que cuenta con un equipo íntegramente femenino delante y detrás de las cámaras, es la historia de un grupo de mujeres cuyas estables vidas de éxito se ven repentinamente sacudidas por la aparición de los restos mortales de una de sus compañeras de instituto, desaparecida durante el viaje de fin de curso a Mallorca veinticinco años antes. Y es que, de primeras la serie nos recuerda algo a “Big Little Lies”, una serie muy aclamada y que ha sido una de las claras referencias de la cineasta a la hora de crear este intrigante thriller.

Simmering teen angst meets social awareness in “Red Flags,” an Atresplayer Original created by award-winning author and playwright Nando López, whose novel “The Age of Anger” was previously adapted for television by Lucía Carballal (“Locked Up”) and backed by The Mediapro Studio (“The Head”) and Atresmedia TV (“Money Heist”).

The project features within the second annual Next From Spain Sessions part of the Berlin Film Festival’s Berlinale Series Market, providing a first look at anticipated Spanish-language programming from industry heavy hitters that include the series producers Atresmedia TV and Zeta Studios.

“’Red Flags’” is a teen drama that portrays with honesty, and without taboos or paternalism, the emotional life of Generation Z,” Miguel García Sánchez, sales director at Atresmedia, told Variety.

“The series fearlessly explores the everyday realities of four friends, delving into their experiences of loneliness, interpersonal interactions and their strong fellowship created through social networks,” he continued.

Carlos Saldanha’s Disney comedy series How to be a Carioca will screen for the first time at the Iberseries & Platino Industria event in October.

The first episode of the Star Original Productions-badged comedy will play at the fest, which is held in Madrid. Saldanha and co-creator Joana Mariani will feature on a panel for the show alongside Leonardo Aranguibel, VP of Production, Head of Production Operations and Strategy, The Walt Disney Company Latin America.

The Portuguese-language comedy series follows an American writer who has to learn the quirks of Rio de Janeiro’s people after moving to the Brazilian city.

The show is set to launch on Star+ in Latin America and Disney’+’s streaming services, including Disney+ worldwide.

Featured in the Spanish showcase at Series Mania, “Age of Anger” (“La edad de la ira”) has the potential to grab viewers from all demographics as it tackles the fractured and complex inner workings of teenagers coming to terms with their complexities, amidst the investigation of a close-to-home homicide.

Produced and distributed internationally via Atresmedia TV and The Mediapro Studio, the series follows its protagonists as they negotiate the terms of their budding and unconditional relationship, one that treads the line between steadfast friendship and romance. More than 500 industry professionals from across the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America have gathered this week for the 2nd edition of Spain’s Conecta Fiction meet-mart, held in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia. Seven potential TV fiction projects will pitch on Tuesday June 19 as part of Spain’s General Society of Authors and Editors Foundation (Sgae) Laboratory, the screenwriting initiative of the rights collection society.

Participating projects will have an opportunity to present to potential international co-production partners, broadcasters and investment partners who may be able to facilitate their productions getting off the ground. Following their presentations, participants will be given the opportunity to hold one-on-one meetings with interested parties.

Three of the proposed projects are comedies, two are period dramas and a number deal with race and identity politics. Detailed descriptions follow.
