Eli Shankji was born in Aleppo, Syria.
He had just started his career in acting when the war started in 2011 which forced him to escape with his family to Lebanon before emigrating to Canada where he became a Canadian citizen.
Eli now is a working professional actor, acting in American / Canadian TV shows, his first appearance in the role of Rafi in Blood and Treasure (CBS) followed by the critically acclaimed television series The Detectives (CBC), and most recently seen in a recurring role on Transplant (CTV / NBC Universal)
Eli has also produced, written and directed numerous short films and music videos.
He is also a singer, songwriter and a composer and plays piano, guitar and trumpet. He's a competitive kick boxer, basketball and tennis player.
