Dr. habil. György Kárpáti is a film producer and an assistant professor. Holds a PhD in communication and habilitated in film studies at the University of Theatre and Film Arts, Budapest. Wrote three books on film, focusing on genre film and film history. Editor of two book series, co-author of several essay books in film. Previously film journalist and film critic for two decades, former Vice President and Deputy General Secretary at FIPRESCI.
