Roman Reigns stands as one of the most accomplished wrestlers in WWE history, leading the Bloodline and dominating the ring with legendary feuds and victories over countless superstars. A two-time champion, he holds the record for the longest championship reign in the promotion’s history at an incredible 1,316 days.

However, controversy recently arose when Raw talk host Bradley Martyn suggested that Reigns might be dishonest about his weight. While it’s not uncommon for WWE wrestlers to exaggerate their stats to appear more imposing, the accusation that Reigns has also misrepresented his weight is truly surprising.

'Red Sonja' Star Martyn Ford Teases His Villain in the Remake
Image
Martyn Ford has broken into the mainstream like the Kool-Aid Man bursting through a wall. The actor, with the musculature of a bodybuilder and the cadence of a confident Englishman, has gone from social media workouts to starring in blockbusters and streaming series (The Sandman and Those About to Die). He's now playing the legendary giant Goliath in Prime Video's new series, House of David, and will be playing an equally formidable villain in the upcoming remake of Red Sonja. In an interview with MovieWeb, Ford told us that his mysterious character in that movie, General Karlak, is set to be visually "phenomenal," so once can imagine Ford's already intimidating physique combined with wild CGI.

Ford has been great at multifaceted but terrifying villains, and compared Red Sonja's Karlak (a villain of the future) to Goliath. "I think there's always similarities between the ultimate bad guys and their mannerisms and their energies.

Image
Bodybuilder and fitness influencer Jo Lindner, known online as Joesthetics, died from an aneurysm in Thailand. He was 30 years old.

She wrote, “He was in my arms… than this is just happening too fast… 3 days ago he kept saying that he had pain in his neck… we didn’t really realize it… until it [was] too late.”

Nicha commented on rumors about her partner’s death, saying it was wrong for people online to “guess how he die [sic] or say he overdose.” This speculation came from Lindner’s earlier admission to using steroids after several fitness trainers accused him of dishonesty.

When ‘Damage’ Turns to ‘Obsession’: Examining Two Adaptations of the Same Erotic Thriller Novel
Image
Sexual obsession is well-worn territory for Erotic Thrillers, a subgenre that often features men who think with their libido rather than their brain. When you spend your life thinking about screwing, it tends to screw with your life.

This is the central premise of Josephine Hart’s 1991 novel Damage, which was transformed in the 1992 film of the same name, and, most recently, was adapted into the four part Netflix series Obsession.

In both adaptations, a wealthy, powerful, middle-aged married man becomes sexually obsessed with his son’s new girlfriend. They begin an affair, and the sexual desire costs the man everything: his job, his marriage, and the life of his son, who dies tragically when he falls over a banister after witnessing his father fucking his fiancé.

What’s interesting about both Damage and Obsession is how both texts adopt the tropes of an Erotic Thriller, albeit by substituting criminal or murderous activity for melodrama.
