Desingh Periyasamy is an Indian director and scriptwriter, predominantly working in the Tamil film industry.

Periyasamy debuted as a director and a scriptwriter with the Tamil romantic comedy caper film Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal (2020) in 2020. The movie featured actors like Dulquer Salmaan, Ritu Varma, Rakshan, and Niranjani Agathiyan.

Along with this film being his directorial debut, it was also the debut of Rakshan and Niranjani Agathiyan. Periyasamy revealed that the film was initially supposed to be a romantic thriller with Dulquer Salmaan being a happy-go-lucky protagonist. The film was scheduled for production in July 2017. However, the shoot got delayed due to the lack of a suitable lead actress. Later, Ritu Varma joined the cast to play the lead actress in the film. The music of this film has been composed by the popular music band Masala Coffee. The background score of this film has been composed by link=nm9556484]. The first song of the film album was released on February 14, 2020, and the entire film was released on February 21, 2020.

The movie was a successful venture at the box office. Even Superstar Rajinikanth praised Periyasamy for the film.

Periyasamy also wrote the lyrics of songs, including Sirikkalam Parakkalam, Kanave Nee Naan and Ennil Nee for Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal (2020).

He was nominated for the best director award at the 67th Parle Filmfare Awards South 2022 with Kamar Film Factory for Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal (2020).

Periyasamy married his wife Niranjani Agathiyan in a private, traditional ceremony in Puducherry, India. Since they married during the COVID-19 lockdown, only a few guests were invited.
