He was born David Gordon Mudge Jr. in Los Angeles California to Sheri and Dave Mudge Sr, a real estate businessman. He is of English and Danish decent. He grew up in Riverside, California with younger brother and sister, Michael and Sarah. He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from The University of Arizona and worked as a commercial real estate broker for 3 years out of college before pursuing a career in acting.
