Ivy Kiru

Ivy Kiru is a Creative Producer who aspires to bring authentic African heroine stories to the forefront and give a voice to the rich human experience that would otherwise never be told. She was the field producer of Free Money (2022), which was an official selection at TIFF and IDFA and currently on Netflix, Mawimbi (ZIFF2023) and Inheritance (2024), which were two of the winners of Some Fine Day Pix first cohort. Sungura (2021), which won Best Extended Cinema at the Malatesta Short Film Festival. The film screened at Festival International du Film Panafricain de Cannes, The African Film Festival in Texas, and Black Star International Film Festival, etc. Ivy was selected for the European Film Market's Toolbox Programme and has contributed to celebrated East African films like Matabeleland (2025), Supa Modo, Baba (TIFF2022) and No Simple Way Home (Berlinale2022). Her work reflects a deep commitment to powerful, globally resonant African storytelling.
