Biography

    • Chris McCray is a dynamic actor whose unique path from military service and business to the screen showcases his tenacity and passion for performance.

Born Christopher Brent McCray in Clarksburg, West Virginia, he grew up in Bridgeport before relocating to Daytona Beach, Florida, during high school. There, he dove into drama classes and musical theatre, honing talents that extended to piano, freestyle, and break dancing-skills he showcased at talent shows and weddings.

After graduating, McCray served five years in the US Navy as a cryptologist, sharpening his discipline and technical acumen. Post-discharge, he earned three business degrees from Kaplan, Johnson & Wales, and The University of Tampa's MBA program, while gaining experience in business consulting and real estate. These ventures honed his strategic thinking and interpersonal skills, enriching his approach to acting.

In 2017, McCray reignited his dream, training at the Straz Center for Performing Arts in Tampa under Eugenie Bondurant and later at Andi Matheny Acting Studio in St. Petersburg, securing agent representation. Since 2018, he's built an impressive resume: he led the 2018 TV series Timing (later renamed Moments Lost) as Drew, gaining vital on-set experience. In 2019, he starred in the horror short Mr. Snip 'Em Clip 'Em Man and supported in An Outbreak on Crestview Street, embracing the genre. His 2021 supporting roles in the action pilot Mantis and the mafia drama For Nothing showcased his versatility across genres. His 2022 lead in the festival-submitted drama Open Mike marked a milestone, while commercials, including a 2025 Sarasota realty spot, highlight his adaptability.

Active in the acting community, McCray shares his journey through social media, reflecting his dedication. With a rich blend of life experience and craft, he continues to captivate audiences and carve a distinctive niche in the industry.
