‘Deathwoods’ Teaser Trailer – Horror Throwback Pays Tribute to the Golden Age of Slasher Movies

You’ll bring a sleeping bag but leave in a body bag in Deathwoods, an upcoming slasher throwback that Bloody Disgusting is exclusively previewing with a teaser trailer this afternoon.

Deathwoods is a feature length slasher film, and it’s currently in post production. No word yet on a release date, but you can whet your appetite with the retro teaser trailer below!

Dark Dreams Productions, Simpatico Pictures and Good Spirits Films present Deathwoods, a modern day slasher with elements of classic grindhouse films. The team previews, “In the vein of the great films that came before it like The Burning, Madman, and Pieces, Deathwoods promises nothing less than extreme bloodshed and mayhem.”

Ahead of the premiere of “The Last Drive-In” Season 7 this Friday, we’ve learned that horror host Joe Bob Briggs has joined the cast of werewolf film The Fairfield County Four.

And it’s not just any werewolf movie. It’s a found footage werewolf movie!

Produced by Horror Dadz Productions, Gray Sky Pictures and Eye4Eye, The Fairfield County Four explores the chilling tale of four friends who encounter a terrifying presence in the woods of Fairfield County, Connecticut. This will be the fourth feature film directed by Joshua Brucker.

“For me, I’m always a sucker for a good werewolf film,” Brucker says. “I’ve always wanted to direct one so now I get to take a stab at a sub-genre that I have loved since childhood. And the inclusion of Joe Bob Briggs is just the icing on the cake.

Piglet Gets Horror Parody Film Inspired by Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw Massacre

A new horror parody film has been made for Piglet, Pooh's pal who has traditionally been depicted as harmless. While the character was reimagined for the "Poohniverse" franchise, he'll next be taking center stage in an unconnected horror film that presents Piglet as a lone killer.

Per Bloody Disgusting, SpookHouse MediaWorks and Strange Films Studios have announced Piglet, a parody film that utilizes Piglet's public domain status. The movie is described as feeling reminiscent of classic slasher flicks, which includes leaning on more traditional practical effects. There are high hopes for Piglet to become a new cult classic, and a first sneak peek at the film has been released in the form of an official poster. That can be seen below.

Latest Public Domain Horror Movie Unleashes Killer ‘Piglet’ [Poster]

Coming soon from SpookHouse MediaWorks and Strange Films Studios is a horror movie titled Piglet, the latest twisted take on a public domain character from the Pooh universe.

The team tells Bd, “This new take on the public domain character Piglet blends elements of classic slasher films like Friday the 13th and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.”

“We’re sparing no expense to stay true to the genre’s practical effects roots and create a truly nightmare-inducing experience. With an ensemble cast, Piglet is primed to be a cult classic in the making,” they continue, also comparing the upcoming film to Motel Hell.

Piglet will be directed by August Aguilar (The Gifted). The cast features Celeste Blandon (Phantom Fun-World), Jasper Hammer (All Eyes), and Brian Bremer (Pumpkinhead). The score is composed by Dr. Chud, formerly of the The Misfits.
