Buddy Delgado
American actor Buddy Delgado was born Buford Griffith IV in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His mother, Nilsa Griffith, is a school teacher originally from Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. His father, Buford Griffith III is also an educator originally from Dayton, Ohio. He is of Puerto Rican and Black descent. Buddy grew up in Arlington, Texas where he began to act in school plays in High School; competing in the UIL One-Act Play Competition and the National August Wilson Monologue Competition where he was a state finalist in his junior and senior year in high school.

Buddy attended Oakwood University where he graduated with a Bachelor's Undergraduate Degree in English: Professional Writing with a Minor in Marketing. As an entrepreneurial artist, he co-founded Oakwood University's Theater Department where, with the help of faculty, a concentration in performance studies was established following the COVID-19 Pandemic. In his time at Oakwood - with collaboration from the Alabama Arts Council - the department produced plays from notable black playwrights such as Lorraine Hansberry and August Wilson. In his final year, Buddy placed in the 85th annual National Association of Dramatic and Spoken Arts (NADSA) monologue competition with Howard's monologue from Kenneth Lonergan's "This Is Our Youth"

While attending Oakwood University, Buddy studied rigorously with The Tom Todoroff Studios based in New York City as a CORE Intensive member learning from alumni of The Juilliard School, The Yale School of Drama, and The Boston Conservatory such as Tom Todoroff, Andrew Wade, Mary Lou Rosato, Mary Joann Negro, Anna Garduno and Tony Nation.

It was because of this training that Buddy was able to work with his mentor Paul D. Nixon and star in the lead role of Papi in "Bizarro" (2022) which gained success at the Rhode Island International Film. In the same year, Buddy gained the opportunity to work with Richard Blake as Dean Roland in "The Actor" (2024), his first feature film. Richard cast Buddy as the representation of his younger self as a young artist enamored with the classic rock and roll band, Collective Soul; where Dean helps struggling actor Hunter Durbin in his pursuits of escaping from criminals seeking a large amount of money. In 2023, he starred in "Civic Duty" (2023) as a young man, Diego, who goes to the extremes in recovery of undertaking his "patriotic duty" to keep the elite class alive; which received "Best Picture" at the Shutter Speed Film Festival in Dallas, TX.

Buddy Delgado has also been involved with local theater in the Dallas/Fort Worth area starring in play readings with Echo Theater and the Grand Prairie Arts Council. As well as the portrayal of Prince Jonathan at the International Pathfinder Camporee in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to an audience of 55,000 campers in "Chosen: The David Story."
