John Henry Phillips

John Henry Phillips is an award-winning archaeologist, film-maker, television presenter and author. He produced and featured in the documentary, No Roses on a Sailor's Grave, based on the true story of his search for a lost shipwreck. He further developed this in his recent book, The Search, which has been described as "an emotional story of a devastating time in history, an unlikely, life-changing friendship and a quest to honor a wartime home and family lost over seventy-five years ago." Of Romani descent himself, John Henry is a prominent advocate for anti-racism, and runs the non-profit Romani Community Archaeology, working with Gypsy and Traveler communities in southern England.
