Rule Breakers, the latest feature film from Oscar-winning director Bill Guttentag and Angel Studios, is a powerful and deeply moving tribute to the transformative power of education for women and girls. Based on the extraordinary true story of the Afghan Dreamers, this film goes beyond a simple underdog narrative to explore what it truly means to resist oppression with defiance, intelligence and fearlessness.
The film tells the inspiring story of Roya Mahboob (played by Circumstance star Nikohl Boosheri), a bright young woman in Afghanistan who dared to dream big. In a society where computers were considered only for boys, Roya’s passion for technology was clear to see and even encouraged by her family. Determined to learn, Roya struck a deal with Abdul (Nasser Memarzia), the local coffee shop owner, trading computer lessons for precious early-morning access to his sole machine. This act of defiance, small in scale, ignited a much grander ambition.

A California judge has dismissed Nigel Lythgoe as a defendant in the sexual assault lawsuit by two All American Girl contestants.
At a Friday afternoon hearing, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Shirley K. Watkins ruled that the two Jane Doe plaintiffs who brought a joint lawsuit in January do not qualify for revival of their claims under the law cited in their complaint. The two plaintiffs — women who competed on the reality game show executive produced by Lythgoe — alleged that Lythgoe forcibly groped and kissed them in 2003.

When Egyptian artist Bayou joined forces with Gaza-raised musician Saint Levant at Coachella this year, something clicked. Effortlessly switching between Arabic and English, sometimes even within a single bar, Bayou delivered an electrifying performance of his self-branded “Egyptian R&b” track “Haifa Wehbe.” Those few minutes on stage were a powerful reflection of the fluid identity that many third-culture kids now boldly embrace.
Bayou always knew he’d perform at Coachella — he predicted it in his song “Sharqeya Lullabies,” released two years prior. “God always has my back. He is the one who willed it,...

JoJo Siwa is returning as a judge for the upcoming season of So You Think You Can Dance, replacing former judge and executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, who stepped down this month following multiple lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault.
Siwa served as a judge on the show’s 17th season in 2022, alongside the late Stephen “tWitch” Boss, as well as with actors Matthew Morrison (who was dismissed from the show over text messages he reportedly sent to a contestant) and Leah Remini. This year, Siwa joins Allison Holker and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

So You Think You Can Dance has looked to its own past to find a judge to step in for the departed Nigel Lythgoe.
JoJo Siwa, who served as a judge on the Fox show’s 17th season in 2022, will rejoin the panel for season 18. The singer and actress will join Sytycd all-star and choreographer Allison Holker and former Dancing With the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy at the judges’ table for season 18, which is set to premiere March 4.
Lythgoe, a co-creator of So You Think You Can Dance, left the show in early January after being sued by Paula Abdul, who claimed that Lythgoe sexually assaulted her during their time working together on both American Idol — where Abdul was a judge and Lythgoe an executive producer — and Sytycd.

Visiting celebrities who sit next to Dancing With the Stars judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli always bring enthusiasm to their role. But not all of them bring what Paula Abdul did earlier this week – experience and knowledge not only about the world of dance but DWTS, specifically. “I love this show,” Abdul told TV Insider on the post-show press line. “I’m a big fan. Even if I’m traveling, I’ll go back and watch it on tape.” Artem Chigvintsev raved about Abdul’s critiques. “She knows what she’s talking about,” the pro dancer said. “She comes from such different parts of the world; she’s a dancer, she’s a choreographer, she’s a performer… She knows it all. She’s been through it all.” Abdul didn’t hesitate to raise a paddle with a different number on it than the show’s regular trio of judges did.

Actor Gagan Dev Riar, who will be soon seen essaying the role of convicted Indian counterfeiter Abdul Karim Telgi in the upcoming streaming show ‘Scam 2003: The Telgi Story’, has shared that he perceived the character as Robinhood.
He also shared that he was advised by the show’s creative director Hansal Mehta to not to read the book on which the story and the character is based.
Gagan said: “Hansal sir told me not to read the book on which the story and the character is based or even the media stories on Abdul Karim Telgi because that would affect my process of understanding the character. He asked me to stick to the script.”
The reason behind the same is that the character from its own point of view is very honest and that honesty needed to reflect in Gagan’s performance because for Abdul, he himself is a hero.

“The Idol” may not be getting much critical love, but one place it’s thriving? TikTok. While pop star Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) drives herself to a mental and physical breaking point while shooting a music video for her new single “World Class Sinner / I’m a Freak,” creators have embraced Nina McNeely’s choreography. Yet when it comes to McNeely’s influences, the word “trending” doesn’t really apply — it’s more like “classic,” as the choreographer looked to dances that have stood the test of time for 25 years or more for inspiration.
“I wanted to dig into the classic tropes of what makes a pop star an icon,” McNeely told IndieWire. “I thought of stars like Madonna and others who used eroticism to push the boundaries and make big statements.” McNeely began researching the great erotic dance moments in film and music videos and started with one of the...

American Idol judge and pop star Paula Abdul very nearly appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
While attending the fifth annual Vanderpump Dog Foundation Gala in Los Angeles, the "Straight Up" singer admitted that she turned down the opportunity to become a "housewife" because she's had her fill of reality television appearances.
The singer, who knows many of the women on the Bravo reality show, has ruled out appearing on that type of show. “I’ve been humbled,” Abdul said when asking if she would ever join the Real Housewives franchise. “I got a kick out of it that I was ever even asked. However, I like to be the one on the couch with the popcorn, watching with my dogs.”
