Rajesh Krishnan is an Indian film maker, screen writer and Producer in the Mumbai Film Industry. He is predominantly known for his work on various humour based television commercials and for his latest stint as a director for Lootcase.
Rajesh Krishnan grew up in the Mumbai suburb, Goregaon and had a strict middle-class, Palakkad Iyer family upbringing. He did his schooling at Vivek Vidyalaya School in Goregaon and went on to pursue Bachelors in Commerce from Shri Chinai College of Commerce & Economics. In 1995, Rajesh Krishnan completed his Post Graduate studies in Advertising and Communications from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. He spent the next 5 years working as Copywriter with agencies such as Contract, Enterprise Nexus and Ogilvy. Rajesh Krishnan did stints in TV channels such as Channel [V] as writer and B4U Music as Head of On Air Promos before he became a professional Ad film maker.
In the year 2007 Rajesh Krishnan founded Soda Films, a boutique advertising production house along with Producer Ameya Dahibavkar. In the year 2016, he Directed Tripling (Season 1), a web series for the OTT platform The Viral Fever (TVF) that received critical acclaim. The year 2020 witnessed the release of a feature Lootcase, a film Rajesh Krishnan directed and co-wrote with Kapil Sawant directly on the OTT platform Disney+Hotstar. Rajesh Krishnan's company Soda Films also co-produced the film with FoxStar Entertainment. The film was originally planned for a theatrical release but later was released on Disney+Hotstar in July due to Covid 19.
