Born in Lucknow, Namita did her schooling from La Martiniere Girls College, Lucknow before studying English Literature at Lady Shri Ram College in New Delhi. In the year 2011, Namita moved to Mumbai to pursue her Master's degree in social work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). Towards the end of her formal education, Namita decided to take a leap of faith and opted out of college placements in order to get a feel of the acting world. She joined a small NGO, which allowed her to participate in the various auditions taking place in the city. In the year 2014, Namita did a Method Actor Training Course at the Jeff Goldberg Institute in Mumbai while simultaneously working in television and commercials.
Namita made major inroads in the field of acting with the Sony LIV show Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhania (2016) in which she was cast as the main lead. In the year 2021, Namita made her digital debut with the TVF web-show Aspirants (2021) in which she played the role of Dhairya.
