Kirk Bowett is the Singlehanded Survivor
After a combat career that took Kirk globally and on operations in Northern Ireland, The Middle East and Africa Kirk trained as a Close Protection Officer in 2013. Leaving the Army later that year Kirk returned to Iraq as a hostile environment bodyguard, looking after diplomats and high-ranking US military personnel charged with the transition of power. In the summer of 2013 and with the ensuing power vacuum enabling ISIS to move in, Kirk was seriously wounded when his armoured car was struck by a blast. Kirk lost his left forearm and his driver Edan in the incident.
Trauma Recovery -
A long recovery and battle with PTSD ensued and in a search for a new identity Kirk found himself on stage with fellow limbless veterans. In 2019 Kirk joined Soldier Arts Academy to perform in the West End and Toronto, Greae Theatre in TINFY and Shakespeare in Remembrance at The Globe.
Media Training -
In 2019 Kirk graduated in Media at Forces Academy BFBS
Film and stunt roles include 1917, Goodbye Christopher Robin, The Crown, Star Wars Rogue One, War Machine and many more. Location management f Netflix TV series Bridgerton Sunken Gardens and Last Christmas.
A break during COVID gave Kirk the chance to return to the UK Military to train military p; pilots in the art of Combat Survival. This has fuelled the desire to write 2 books, The Art of Survival and his autobiography Misadventure. Kirk currently lives in Grantham England and is a Military Survival Instructor, Actor, Author, Military Adviser, Resilience Advocate and Active Scout Leader.
