Gemma Laurie(I)

Gemma Laurie is a Scottish actress known for playing Rosemary Strachan in BBC's Shetland and Wilma McCann in ITV's The Long Shadow. In 2024 she understudied in Macbeth at the Harold Pinter Theatre, starring David Tennant and Cush Jumbo. She performed onstage as Lady Macduff, Ross and Seyton. She was also this production's Fight Captain. Originally from Linlithgow, she first trained in musical theatre at The Dance School of Scotland and later went on to train in acting at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. Before graduating in 2021, she was nominated for the BAFTA Scholarship and was shortlisted for the BBC Carleton Hobbs Bursary Competition.
