Amit Mehra - Mr. Universe India 2018 - is a Dubai and Mumbai based actor, model and producer.He has modelled for the top designers, been in print ads and compaigns for numerous international companies, and has already proven his outstanding acting skills in multiple movies and TV shows. He used to be a theatre actor, and also got to learn acting skills from one of the best gurus in Hollywood ( Tom Logan from LA, USA ). Today, Amit himself provides acting masterclasses, e.g. at the Warsaw Film School. His career has taken Amit all over the world, from Middle East to Europe and North America. And that's what cultures while traveling.
I was born in Delhi into a newspaper family. From an early age I excelled at sports, in particular cricket, badminton, volleyball and athletics and later when I grew to be very tall as a child I started going to the gym. This has led to a life - long commitment to fitness. I work out everyday and also advise others.
In 2012 I attended acting school with Tom Logan in Los Angeles.
Whilst in the USA i was invited to model for various agencies and this resulted in TV advertisements for the Thums Up, Park Avenue Soap and for Audi.
From 2013 I studied Food and Health Studies at Stanford University, California.
In 2014 I made a conscious decision to return to India to learn acting from an Indian perspective and settled in Mumbai.
Between 2014 and 2016 I worked for various live theatre groups learning my craft before beginning to work in Bollywood.
Films in which I have had a role are : Titoo MBA ( 2014 ) , Arjun Patiala ( 2019 ) and Marjavaan ( 2019 ) and I have appeared in several episodes of the 2014 TV Series in Mahabharat as Lord Shiva and the 2017 TV series Fear Factor ( Khatron Ke Khiladi ) as the celebrity contestant
I continue my modelling career and have appeared in compaigns for Radisson Hotels, Airtel, Siyaram's HP, TGI Friday, Tata Safari , Maruti Suzuki, Schwarzkopf, L'Oreal, Royal Enfield etc.
In 2018 I was persuaded to enter the "Mr. Universe India" competition and won first prize. At the Mr. Universe World Championship later that year in Costa Rica I went on to be placed 12th in the world but won 2nd prize in the sports and fitness catagory.
In the course of my work I have lived in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Milan and have travelled extensively in Europe, Asia and North and South America. I speak and write English perfectly and in addition to Hindi can also understand Punjabi, Haryani some Italian and I have a smattering of Spanish.
