Biography

Though primarily known in the Malaysian music circuit as a jazz vocalist, Junji Delfino's name has also appeared in credits for a number of theatre, television as well as big screen productions including the worldwide runaway hit, Crazy Rich Asians.

Junji earned high praise in Adelaide in 2019 where she performed as one of three actors playing multiple roles in the avant premiere of Light, based on the life of Francis and William Light, commissioned as a joint production between Malaysia and Australia for the OzAsia Festival.

Though she considers herself an accidental actor, jumping into the deep end as a substitute actor with Instant Cafe Theatre, the transition from songbird to thespian couldn't have been a more natural progression. After all, for her, singing is storytelling set to music. And she has told a million stories by now.
