Malakai James

Malakai is an impressive 19 year old. As a recent graduate of Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach, CA, Malakai is excited to continue his acting career for years to come. His smile and vibrant energy is known to light-up a room. He enjoys acting in film, TV and commercials as he continues to build a name for himself in the industry! Malakai plays the role of Young Jim in the 2021 award winning feature film, The Paper Tigers, that is playing in theaters and streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime. He has also played the Lead in the released short film, Never Land. Never Land received four (4) "Best Short Film" Awards on the film festival circuit and Malakai received one nomination for Best Actor in a short film at the 2019 Marietta International Film Festival. Malakai also enjoyed filming a role on a feature film titled WYRM). Malakai previously starred as Principal in a short film with the cast and crew of The Lunchbox Brigade. This short award-winning screenplay was screened at the Holly Shorts Film Festival.
Malakai also has had a great experience filming a Co-Star role on a CBS show, Wisdom of the Crowd with Jeremy Piven and Richard T. Jones. Malakai's work also includes a variety of local and regional commercials along with a number of national spots. He has been seen in commercials for Google, DreamWorks, Ford, Lifewise, Bank of America and was also featured in a commercial advertising for the NBA on ESPN's "NBA Countdown." He has also been featured in local internal spots for Waste Management, Boeing and Microsoft. Malakai is a member of the SAG/AFTRA union.
He is a gifted athlete and loved playing football for Redondo Union, high school and AAU basketball, flag football and track and field. He also enjoys singing and playing video games. He is extremely well-traveled at 18 years old. He loves the beach and watching the ocean waves crash into the shore which is why living in Redondo Beach is the perfect place for him! He is polite, takes direction well, and gets along with others easily. His best qualities are his kind spirit, honesty, and ability to make people laugh. He is social and has many friends. He is the older brother to his sister, Maliyah, 15 years old. He lives in Redondo Beach, CA with his Mom, Dad and sister.
