Kari Staten is from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She is an actor & writer.

She always had a secret passion for acting but didn't pursue it until later in life.

Kari has been blessed to work with some of the most amazing & creative people in this industry. Booking roles on The Recruit (2025) Wildcards (2025) Resident Alien (2025) Lost Ollie (2022) Devil in Ohio (2022) and Sacred Lies Season 2 (2021). She has booked Lead & Supporting roles in 15+ short films. A few of her short film favorites have been playing The Stranger in the short film Away with the Fairies by acclaimed director Rene Brar (2024) the mother of actor Brendan Fletcher (The Revenant) in the film The Road (2020) and Leslie the mother with a secret, in Motherboard. This last short film earned the Best Comedy Scene award at the Action on Film Festival in Las Vegas (2019).

As a writer, she wrote and shot her first short film, Legion of Zoom (October 2020) during Covid which was part of the Festival Circuit in 2021. She is also working on her first feature film script, The Bicycle Diaries. This period piece film is loosely based on her father's life growing up in Nazi-Occupied Denmark during WW2.

When she's not on set, she continues to coach with actors Wesley Salter and Megan Peta Hill. Kari also has been designing jewelry for over 20 years under the name, Zuka Artful Accessories. Kari & her husband enjoy time at the dog park with her rescue dogs Sadie from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Javier from Northern BC. .
