Venkat Narayana Murthy (born 21st June 1996) is an Indian theatre artist belonging to theatre family and has been performing since age of 11. Venkat has performed over 100 theatre show in various cities of Indian which includes Delhi, Mumbai & Hyderabad. Murthy has touched the stage of well know auditoriums giving out mesmerizing shows to the audiences. Murthy believes that what the audience are keen to see things they have not seen and hear stories in a way they haven't seen or experienced before. They applaud not because of the skills portrayed, but the familiarity of the story and characters having a little part intrinsic similarity with their own lives.
Early Life Venkat Narayana Murthy was born in a theatre family in Delhi, Murthy is grand son of S Gopala Murthy (known as SG Murthy) who was of the first people to graduate from National School Of Drama, Delhi in 1967.
Venkat did his schooling from AES Dr Ramesh Babu Memorial School, AES NT Rama Rao Senior Secondary school, Delhi and Ryan International School, Kandivali Mumbai.
He has bachelors of fine arts degree in film direction and editing from JNAFAU, Annapurna International School of Film + Media, Hyderabad.
Career and Life
He has directed many plays ranging from issues dealing with social awareness to light hearted comedies. He believes that what the audience are keen to see are the things they have not seen and hear stories in a way they haven't seen or experienced before, they applaud not because of the skills portrayed, but the familiarity of the story and characters having a little part intrinsic similarity with their own lives. Venkat has performed more then 100 theatre plays in Delhi's public stage, at Mumbai's famous NCPA National Centre for Performing Arts, Hyderabad's cultural spaces. With a motive of taking art to social responsibility venkat has performed over 35 different street plays in various parts of the country. His directorial venture in Hyderabad with plays like Sangeet Ki Katar which was one of the biggest musicals of the city, Haadsa, Holi, Pagala Ghoda, Chanakya and many more have taken audience through an emotional roller coaster. He has also been an anchor for a show with Topper Tv, which is one of the popular educational channels, and he has also reported, taken interviews on Sahara One (a leading Hindi channel) , Venkat has also written and directed more than 10 Short Film and Acted in over 25 Short Films with one remarkable film where venkat got a chance to share the screen with Amala Akkineni.
With the motive to spread the art of acting & theatre venkat ventured into acting training 5 Years ago and started his theatre training organisation Natyachata which till now covered cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad with over 120 workshops.
Social Work Venkat is one of the key members in setting up a not for profit organisation TOHF . The foundation based in Mumbai is for underprivileged women and children. Venkat has looked after the campaigns of the foundation and has contributed in accelerated education under street to school program. He has also planned and headed a campaign against ovarian cancer which got awarded by the British Council for being the best campaign . Being trained in magic art, he has performed more than 13 shows in an year for charity and has been recognised for the same . Venkat has also managed to run collection drives for cancer patients , underprivileged children and has been one of the major collector and contributor for NEPAL Earthquake Relief Campaign in Mumbai.
