Joseph Camilleri was born in San Francisco of immigrant parents. His father emigrated from the island of Malta and his mother emigrated from Quito, Ecuador. He attended grammar and high school in San Francisco and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BS degree in Civil Engineering. He served in the United States Navy as a Naval Flight Officer for eight years of active duty. He retired as LCDR, USNR. Subsequently, He obtained a Master of Science Degree in Structural Engineering from San Jose State University and worked as a structural engineer for the California Department of Transportation, CALTRANS, for 24 years.
In 2016, he began taking acting classes from Film Acting Bay Area under Celik Kayalar and Meisner training at Waterfront Playhouse and Conservatory under Rachael Adler. He has acted in numerous film productions and produced numerous feature-length films. He has been co-star and executive producer on feature films Cabal, The Insurrection, Righteous Blood and The Vampire and The Vigilante directed by Rene Perez.
He is also a singer and have sung on five independent feature films. He was recipient of Gran Royale Music Award for Best Bay Area Actor 2019.
