‘City the Animation’ Adds New Cast Memebers Ahead of July Premiere

Keiichi Arawi’s City manga has been around since 2016 and currently has just 13 volumes due to numerous breaks in production and publication. But, the manga recently returned and we also know that an anime adaptation will premiere this year.

Titled City the Animation, the anime will premiere this summer, and ahead of the premiere, the producers have decided to do a weekly thing where they announce new cast members for the anime.

This Monday, two new cast members for the upcoming anime have been announced.

The first announced cast member is Yū Miyazaki as Kamaboko Oni, a manga artist. The characters seems to be very optimistic based on the description:

The second cast member is Ryōta Suzuki as Todoroki, Kamaboko’s editor. Based on his description, he is not that happy with Kamaboko.

Ahead of a July 6, 2025 broadcast, the official accounts for City The Animation today announced the casting of Yu Miyazaki as manga artist Oni Kamaboko and Ryota Suzuki as his editor, Todoroki. A second concept visual produced by .MP was also unveiled, titled "God Soccer + special otheres." City The Animation Anime Paints the Town Red in 1st Trailer

Kyoto Animation's double-header stage event at AnimeJapan 2025 today unveiled the first full trailer for City The Animation , which adapts the follow-up work of Nichijou - My Ordinary Life creator Keiichi Arawi, and announced a July 6 at 24:00 Jst (effectively July 7 at 0:00) premiere date for Japanese television. Advance screenings of the first three episodes will be held from late May to mid-June in multiple cities. Furui Riho performs "Hello" for the anime's opening song and Tomoo performs "Lucky" for the ending song. Aikatsu! Akari Generation 10th Anniversary Event Slated for December 2024

Bandai Namco Pictures has announced that "Kirakkira!," a special event to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Aikatsu! anime series' "Akari Generation" arc at Yokohama Buntai in Kanagawa Prefecture on Sunday, December 15, 2024. "Akari Generation" is the name of the second half of the Aikatsu! TV anime series, featuring the second protagonist, Akari Ozora. The first episode of the arc (102nd in total), "Aikatsu Shiyou☆Ready Go!!" aired in Japan just ten years ago, on October 2, 2014. Akari originally admires Ichigo Hoshimiya, the first protagonist of the series, and enrolls in Starlight Academy to become an idol like her. She eventually forms the unit “Luminous” with Sumire Hikami and Hinaki Shinjo, and grows through idol activities that only she can do. The 10th anniversary event will include live voice recording, live singing, talk session, and much more. The official website for the upcoming 2024 TV anime Delico's Nursery has posted a third teaser trailer. The atmosphere is completely different from the previously clips, and this new one offers a glimpse of new characters and new aspects of the story. Delico's Nursery is a completely new TV anime based on Kenichi Suemitsu's Trump stage play series that has been running since 2009. This new trailer revealed for the first time at the "Trump Series 15th Anniversary Screening Festival: Hajimete no Mayu-ki" event held at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo on May 17.
